Wire Rope Thimble
Silver thimble I found last year. It will be investigated as FLO said it could be classed as a treasure.

The brass thimble was my mother-in-law's thimble. The thimble on the right is mine and is called a tailor's thimble. Both are more than 50 years old.

This is my paternal grandmother's Sterling silver thimble that we assume she got when she finished a sewing course of some sort. It's engraved with her initials. I was not close to her and never saw her sew anything. Her sister however was a wonderful sewer/quilter & department store alterations lady who gave me my first sewing machine. I bought the Sterling silver "cage" some years ago to hang on a silver chain necklace.
This silver ring thimble was made more than 100 years ago. I find it in my mother-in-law's workbox. Now it maybe still lies in the dusty workbox.
