My grandmother's thimble

This is my paternal grandmother's Sterling silver thimble that we assume she got when she finished a sewing course of some sort. It's engraved with her initials. I was not close to her and never saw her sew anything. Her sister however was a wonderful sewer/quilter & department store alterations lady who gave me my first sewing machine. I bought the Sterling silver "cage" some years ago to hang on a silver chain necklace.
