A massive Chinese supermarket on Nechells Park Road and Thimble Mill Lane in Nechells, Birmingham.
Been meaning to photograph this building and Chinese structures in Birmingham for years, just never got around to it until now.
Have seen it from cars, but first time walking past it.

I rarely saw my grandmother without a thimble on her finger. She was always sewing, crocheting, knitting, darning, tatting . . . and she did beautiful work. She used to say that you would keep the evil eye away by putting a little tiny mistake in your work -- and she's the only person I've ever known who had to deliberately put a mistake in anything she did. I have no trouble getting a mistake into my needlepoint, myself.
Someday maybe I'll have a collection of thimbles from places I've been but for now I'm living vicariously through Deb's adventures. Thanks Deb!!!!

Wire Rope Thimble
Silver thimble I found last year. It will be investigated as FLO said it could be classed as a treasure.

The brass thimble was my mother-in-law's thimble. The thimble on the right is mine and is called a tailor's thimble. Both are more than 50 years old.
