Week 17 in 52 Weeks for Dogs

I did a lot of processing on this one, adding a hue / saturation level and desaturating the background but removing the effect from Taivas. Then ditto with a brighten / contrast layer to make the background almost white.

Then added three layers of Kim Klassen's textures using different blend modes and erasing them at varying opacity from Taivas. Finally, I flattened the image, duplicated the picture and added the sun faded effect in Elements 8, erased it very slightly from Taivas.

The town of Breckenridge was started as a mining town in the Gold Rush Age in the late 1800's. It was a boom, bust era, as the town grew from striking gold, then silver, then very little happened until the dredges came in and dredged the Blue River that runs through the small town. Today It's mostly a great place to ski, vacation, fish and tour with beautiful views from every angle.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

One can live through all tribulations and disappointments by constantly standing firm and then taking new steps. This is a primal trust which in the face of all the attacks of frustration and despair becomes a lasting hope. In this way one can practise the virtue of perseverantia, of holding fast, of persistence, of endurance.

“So fine was the morning except for a streak of wind here and there that the sea and sky looked all one fabric, as if sails were stuck high up in the sky, or the clouds had dropped down into the sea.”

Happy Macro Monday Everyone

Crazy as this might seem to most of you - this was taken on Friday night (12/5) when we went downtown to see the boats at the marina lit up for Christmas!!! Still in bloom all around Beaufort!! I really liked the two blooms closest to the fence - they reminded me of the "class leaders" standing up to say - "ok now, people are not going to believe we're still alive since it's the Christmas parade - so stand up and show off"!

I like to use textures when I'm working in an still life photography. The idea is that viewer travel to the past with this kind of pictures.

A week of abstract textures inspired by the long-awaited return of Canadian spring. Starting it off with the soft yellow haze of a dandelion in bloom.
