Sorry. I don't know what kind of leaves these are but I noticed them on a visit to El Portal Rain Forest Center in El Yunque National Forest near San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I really liked the long arching shapes and the parallel lines in each leaf.
El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest in the U. S. national forest system. According to Wikipedia, there is the Tongass U.S. National rain forest in Alaska, but El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest.

This actually says something that I wrote out, but then I had so much fun playing with my own homemade textures that I make with my hipstamatic app, that I decided to leave it like this. :)
I saw a photo like this on Flickr a while back and fell in love with it. I thought I had added it as a favourite but somehow I can’t find it. So if the person who did that shot sees this one, thank you for the idea/inspiration
I rooted out my black wig because my blonde shortish hair just didn’t help capture what I wanted.

Originally shot with Nikon FM-2 + Micro Nikkor 55mm f2.8 + Ilford HP 5
Negatives were shot again on different materials with a Nikon D90.
Final invert on photoshop.
