Dover Cargo Terminal handles 350,000 tonnes annually at present with around 10,000 container movements per year. In 2012 and 2013, the Port of Dover posted record tonnages and saw considerable scope to capture a much bigger share of this market not only in the UK but in Europe too. This is one of the reasons why the Port is developing Dover Western Docks Revival as a golden opportunity to further develop the cargo business.

Charles de Gaulle - Paris - Terminal 2

Waiting for a connecting flight at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, also known as Roissy Airport (to the French).

This has to be one my least favored European airports - plenty of thought has gone into the architectural design but little into passenger comfort and catering. If you are unlucky enough to travel through during a busy period you will find no available seating and woefully inadequate catering for the number of passengers.

Dogs are allowed on French Domestic flights - including long haul to the French Caribbean Islands! Once had cabin crew running up and down the isles trying to catch one!

I knew the instant I took this picture, it would be my favorite of the night. I love moments like that.

Last night I went to downtown Cleveland to get some pictures of the Christmas decorations and some nighttime architectural shots. I was down there with some fellow members of the Cleveland Photographic Society: Dee, Joanne (her website is on her profile with all her pictures), Troy, Dona, and Ron.

We just about froze our butts off, since it was pretty chilly, but I know we all got a lot of great shots!

The statues here are part of the Soldiers and Sailors monument in Public Square, and the tower is the Terminal Tower. But the lighting, juxtaposition, and even the moon all seemed just right for what I wanted here, so I am really, really happy with this shot!

This also goes to show that the ZD 9-18mm lens performs excellently at its not so wide end as well :)

Terminalia catappa L. Combretaceae. CN: [Malay -Ketapang], Indian-almond, Malabar-almond, Sea-almond, Tropical-almond. Native of Madagascar, China, Taiwan, India, Indo-China (Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam), Malesia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines), Australia (Northern Territory, Queensland), Fiji, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu; elsewhere naturalized and cultivated. Uses shade/shelter, food, timber, folk medicine. It grows to 35 metres tall, with an upright, symmetrical crown and horizontal branches. Fruit corky, light fruit that is dispersed by water. The nut within the fruit is edible when fully ripe, tasting almost like almond. As the tree gets older, its crown becomes more flattened to form a spreading, vase shape. Its branches are distinctively arranged in tiers. The leaves are large, 15–25 cm long and 10–14 cm broad, ovoid, glossy dark green and leathery. They are dry-season deciduous; before falling, they turn pinkish-reddish or yellow-brown. The flowers are monoecious, with distinct male and female flowers on the same tree. Both are 1 cm in diameter, white to greenish, inconspicuous with no petals; they are produced on axillary or terminal spikes. The fruit is a drupe 5–7 cm long and 3–5.5 cm broad, green at first, then yellow and finally red when ripe, containing a single seed.

Kingman has an industrial operation, similar to Chicago Terminal back home, called the Kingman Terminal (KGTR). It utilizes a pair of ex-SP SW1500s #1541 and #1542 in the Patriot Rail scheme. Here they are sitting in the industrial park just outside of Kingman Airport, with no business going on that day.

The main terminal of Fairbanks International Airport after everything quieted down for the night. I like the effect the reflection made, except for the fact that I actually caught the roof of my vehicle in about half of this shot.
