Solheimasandur Beach, Iceland
After a 50minute trek to this location we were fortunate enough for the sun to make a brief appearance at dawn.
Thanks for looking :-)
First generation EMD power is a rare sight on most Genesee and Wyoming shortlines, but the Golden Isles Terminal Railway in Brunswick, GA doesn’t disappoint. GC 1715 departs Colonels Island Terminal with an SW14 in tow pulling a long line of autoracks across Fancy Bluff Creek.
Built for the Norfolk & Western Railway in 1957 as a GP9, Georgia Central 1715 continues to earn her keep nearly 62 years later assigned to one of Georgia Ports Authority’s busiest Roll on/ Roll off terminals in the state.

The TRRA hump job pulls out of Madison Yard for headroom with a pair of SD40-2s while another TRRA job gets to work with a pair of GP38-3's and an SD40.
December 31, 2016.
The action is heavy at CP Junction in Brooklyn, IL as T101 on the right prepares to blast off down the Illinois Transfer towards interchange with A&S Gateway Yard, while a trim job on the left shoves back into TRRA Madison Yard. Decent side-by-side considering there's a noticeable button push-to-shutter release delay on these flying cameras.
In the left background, an A&S 101 transfer has just come up from Gateway Yard via the Wiggins Main and prepares to yard the train.
It's inevitable in this city - Hurry up and wait! A short timer shoots down main 1 at the O'hare Transfer Metra stop, as 2 northbounds look on. Who goes next is anyone's guess? The purchase of the EJ&E ironed this issue out here, and just moved it out to the J mainline, most days it looks like this but just further out in the burbs - as this spot has become extremely quiet for freight traffic.
Something different from my usual style.
Pictures with cinematic look & feel.
Thanks for watching. Your comments and favorites are gratefully appreciated!

Went back to Fisherman's Terminal and decided to get a pic similar to one I took during the day. Felt like messing around with B&W for the first time and felt like it really fits ships at night.

This terminal was still on but it really looked like there wasn’t any activity.
For a photo story from Jutland (and Copenhagen):
There was an architectural period where they looked at the functionality of steel and glass. The terminal at Victoria st London is a good example of that thinking.
The River Terminal Railway was an industrial road in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, serving parent Republic Steel’s works on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River. The RT’s bicentennial contribution was a little different from the usual red, white and blue fare offered up by most railroads. Instead they applied a stylized “76” in their standard blue and yellow to the radiator grille of SW7 76.
I boldly took this shot from a moving ferry as it approached the Passenger Terminal at Sydney's Circular Quay. Was surprised at what I got considering the the light and movement of the ferry.

Week #22 ~ Blue Hour
This week's aim was to get out in the hour after sunset and get some twilight images (or the hour before sunrise and capture that predawn glow.)
There is a very handy website (www.bluehoursite.com/) which you can enter your location into and it will give you the times of the two blue hours - add +1 hour for Ireland.
Wrote to Dublin Airport for permission to shoot the Terminal 2 building there. It's one of my favourite places - I get a great feeling just walking under this building and to be allowed to take shots was an honour for me.

Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio has a significant amount of history behind it. Its Art Deco halls have hosted everything from trains, to movie theaters, to a department store. It's now home to several prominent museums on its lower floors. Its interior dome is one of the largest in the world.
I stood all the way in one of the corners of the lobby and took about twenty photos to create this panoramic view including the terminal's concentric ceiling.
