The Terminal at Broome Airport as it was in 1977.

10 years earlier to the left was the building housing Department of Civil Aviation "Broome Air Radio," in later years known as a Flight Service Unit. This was shut sometime in the early 70's and the building disappeared.

One of the original radio towers is sill visible in this photo.

When transiting Broome on MMA to Louisa Downs as a 16 year old kid with a Student Pilots License, I would always walk across the tarmac to Broome Air Radio and get the latest forecasts etc to look important to fellow passengers.

Security of course in those days was non existent.

On the right, even when this photo was taken was the hanger used by Murray Penn, an aircraft engineer that moved there in about 1977. The hanger he used was the one that Horrie Miller (of McRobertson Miller Airlines) used to house his private aeroplane.

This building is very typical of all the terminals that were built on the airports at the major towns in the Northwest and Kimberley.

Ferry Terminal St. George

We were fortunte to fly the Delta Shuttle from Chicago to the Marine Air Terminal and back.

The Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport is the only active airport terminal dating from the first generation of passenger travel in the United States. Originally built to handle seaplanes, the Art Deco building was designed in 1939 by William Delano of the firm Delano & Aldrich.

Since 1985, the terminal has been used primarily for shuttle services between New York and Boston and Washington D.C. In 1985, Pan American World Airways began the Pan Am Shuttle service between New York and Boston from the terminal while its competitor, the Eastern Shuttle, operated from the major terminal. Delta Air Lines acquired the service from Pan Am in 1991 and continues to use the terminal for operating the Delta Shuttle. It has added a Chicago shuttle (formerly to Midway, now O’Hare) and discontinued the Boston route.

"Flight," a mural measuring 12 feet in height and 237 feet in length, is the largest mural created as part of the Work Projects Administration (WPA). Completed by James Brooks in 1940, it depicts the history of man's involvement with flight.

Philippine Rabbit Station

Formerly the Philippine Rabbit Station in Baguio, this place is now better known as the Philippine Rabbit Sinkhole because of the huge crater created when this area sunk during one of the supertyphoons of the 80's.

I still remember when the hole was being refilled, women workers were hired to the the riprapping.

This area now serves as a jeepney terminal for La Trinidad bound jeepneys, also, several bar and restaurants have opened up on the buildings along it's perimeter.

Terminal, two levels of road, and one crowd of pedestrians waiting to safely use the crosswalk (which may never happen). Driving around LAX is like driving in Bangkok.

This was built in 1929 and has been abandoned for 34 years. I took this picture from the Lake Shore Limited. I have other pictures of this building taken when I actually went there and wasn't passing by on a train -- but this side is not accessible that way and is most easily visible from the train.

A very intense week began on Sunday with a trip round the M25, dropping friends off at Stanstead and then me at Heathrow, as I was flying to Dresden for the week to work.

In the end I came home a day early, so here I am at home, working way, but shattered. A combination of odd shifts, tennis elbow and a start of a cold coming. All this resulted in many hours too less sleep, and now feeling like death warmed up, slightly.

Terminal 2 is good, for a terminal. Easy to check in, get through security and found a place to enjoy a pint in. Not bad.

We took a Caribbean cruise Dec 2-9. These two pics are from the Louisville airport parking garage on the day we left. The leaves were just too cool not to grab some shots. More pics to follow.

The cruise terminal in Naples with an apartment building parked alongside. (MSC Splendida - 137,000 tons 3970 passengers)

The impressive Maritime Station complex is located in the center of Naples, between land and sea. This is where Terminal Napoli has been operating since it was opened, with a business that is undoubtedly linked to the physical structure in which it operates, and to the projects of transformation that it has promoted.

As a matter of fact, Terminal Napoli is the company that manages the cruise terminal in Naples’ port (cruise ships dock at the Maritime Station, where large transatlantic liners used to dock). Starting with its natural business operations, it has provided an example of how the public can enjoy and benefit from a sea station…now through the recent construction of a convention center, Expo Napoli, and a shopping mall.

Terminal Napoli has become the point of reference in the cruise line sector, among others. In fact, people refer to the “Naples model” because Terminal Napoli is the first real example of a company where supply and demand meet (its mixed structure also includes cruise lines).

Terminal Napoli is, therefore, a multifunctional company, just like the structure in which it operates.

Aeroport de Paris-Roissy Charles de Gaulle, Terminal 2F

Construction of Cincinnati Union Terminal began in 1931, and was completed when the station officially opened on March 31, 1933. During its heyday, the station was used by seven railroads: Baltimore & Ohio; Chesapeake & Ohio; New York Central ("Big Four"); Lousiville & Nashville; Norfolk & Western; Pennsylvania Railroad; and the Southern Railway. Amtrak abandoned service to the station in 1972, but returned in 1991 after CUT was renovated and became the Cincinnati Museum Center.

The Central Terminal train station was opened in 1929 and closed in 1979. Time and vandals have taken a toll on this magnificent structure. Ther is a group in Buffalo trying to restore the terminal and facility once used for the Robert Redfor movie "The Natural."
