Taken through the window of The Tea Leaf. They have some beautiful displays, and while the owner came out and asked what I was doing, instead of stopping me from shooting, she handed me her card and asked for a copy of the shots.

This is a bottom view of the "stage playset" that I created for a custom Medicom Kubrick figure that I created of modern burlesque star (and producer of the Monday Night Tease in L.A.) Lili VonSchtupp.
This "stage playset" I created for her is a recreation of the actual stage at The Monday Night Tease in Hollywood which can be found at the venue called "The 3 Clubs".
The stage is made out of wood, aluminum, fabric (for the tassels and trim), canvas, and paper (for the banner). It was painted with acrylics and ink (with a little bit of penciling for stage details).
This playset was treated to be playable and waterproof. It was also fitted to hang on a wall as as an art piece.
Lili is created here to be featured in her 'Fabulous Poodles' costume. Technically the way we are seeing it here, she would be in the middle of her act. See my other pictures of her figure for further details and descriptions of that figure.
This is the first in a series I am working on which will include other modern stars of the burlesque stage as well as some of its legends. Not all of the figures in this series will come with its own stage.
Another from Brooklyn's famous Mermaid Parade, it celebrates the first day of summer when all the Mermaids come out of the ocean...
She waited till all eyes (and camera's) were on her!
It was a wonderful, hot sunny day, filled with cool people and costumes. So much fun!

After shooting with Karen at UAA, we moved to a second location, an underpass in Spenard. This is a cool place to shoot since it is usually covered with graffiti and litter - good place for a grunge setting. I took these photos in Anchorage, Alaska in July 2010.
Karen is definitely fun to shoot with - she has quite a sassy attitude, no respect for us old fart photographers, and a great sense of humor - yes - I hope we have more chances to shoot together.
Please look at me, look at me, let me get just a little taste, please please please. I'd be happy to help you with that bath!!!!! I could do it in less than half the time it's taking you-GAWD! Why won't you let me help?? Come ON, I'm boring a hole through your skull with my eyes, can't you feel it, Kitty Cat????
