I call this Petal-Art.
The strip-tease.
They curve and twist in a gorgeous way.
I have wild yellow poppies in the garden, they are the most ephemeral of flowers.
Everything has to be ready before you bring them in, bang, a few photographs, put them in water, in no time the pretty heads are hanging.
Then the petals start their final dance, they curve and twist in a gorgeous way.
The colour changes from yellow to ochre to orange...
When I came in the next morning, the petals had dropped off and the seed-box and stamens stood naked.
Ending with a golden firework!
Wishing you all the best and thank you, M, (*_*)

We were hoping for rain. They said a 50% chance. It never came and that's how this photo got it's title. I didn't increase saturation in post. Still need a wide angle and a long lens. Soon!!
THE EVENING NEWS
Catalytic confrontations
Calculated crawl,
Embryonic isolations,
Future free-for-all.
Energetic exhortations,
Apoplectic brawl,
Catatonic saturation,
Isometric balls.
Egocentric salutation,
Fatalistic fall,
Megalithic mumbo jumbo,
Paganistic pall.
Pugilistic palpitation,
Excavated sprawl,
Perspiration aggravation,
Aspirated wall.
Ammunition malnutrition,
Superstition stall,
California concentrated,
Captivated thrall.
Bound and ground,
Then taken down,
By the very best-
With one more show
Worth watching,
And then we’re headed west.
Recreation generation,
By the book denomination,
Families filled with hesitation,
RVs racked for roaming.
Picking up the pieces,
Laid down on the land,
With wasted wealth and watersheds,
And regions raped by man.
Calibration castigations,
Asymmetric aberrations,
Guided tours with revelations,
Ratted out and ruined.
Catastrophic congregations,
Commutated castings,
Calvinistic computations,
Debonair and prancing.
Altruistic aspirations,
Stoned, bemoaned abbreviations,
Terrified with trepidations,
Gnomes long gone and gassed!
Honed and cloned then overthrown,
Granted one last wish-
Celebrated, then negated-
Dangling near the dish!
Partisan un principles,
In petrifying packs-
With news and views
And loop-de-loops,
And stab-them-in-the-backs.
Ready for the ruckus,
Sitting at the shrine,
Thought they really
Had the goods,
Now listen to the whine.
Thought they had it marketed,
Cornered and refined,
Around the town
The lie unwound
And then they lost their mind.
Settling to the bottom,
They slid to lower ground,
Between the lines and valentines,
some lost their royal crowns.
Terroristic tinkering,
Tumbling and tinkling,
Fundamental farkles
Helpful and home grown.
Patriotic particles,
Hidden in the articles,
Compact and post partial,
Buried to the bone.
Vacuumed packed
And gunny-sacked,
Pre-segmented squalls,
Appalachian apparitions,
Headed to the malls.
Fevered and fantastic men,
Marching to the moon,
With masticating matriarchs,
In subcutaneous swoon.
Breasts blown up beautiful,
Complicated castings,
Fallen faces on the floor,
Mesmerized for masking.
Sacrificial sublimations,
Surrogates sublime,
Tetrahedral analgesic,
Sentimental crimes.
Pawing, pungent prisoners,
Soothing, sexy swine-
Sows and cows and sinning sons,
Tasting tempting wines.
Navigation nuances,
Nuptials by Nair,
Feudalistic fragrances,
Held up with heavy hair.
Practical imbalances,
Factory un repairs,
New wave cold and chemical friends,
Facts blown up with air.
Salivating swindlers,
Solo Simon says,
Highfalutin prostitution,
Fixed up with the Feds.
Sports and courts and teasing torts,
Women going wild-
Dow Jones Average hemorrhage,
Help the homeless child.
Down the daunting highway,
Less than overnight,
Covering ground without a sound,
Filtered by first light.
Lazy lit up lethargy,
Loosed by lying lips,
Bought the farm in small degrees,
Then sailed a sinking ship.
Galvanizing garrisons,
Gathering at the line,
Pushed ahead though nearly dead,
They won it one more time.
Tested in the tumult,
On solid ground they stand,
Groping with the changer,
Positioned close at hand.
Nightly, brightly flickering,
Turn the clicker off-
Before you go,
Don’t miss the show,
An evening totally lost!

A white Bearded iris from April as a tease, like the weather. We are nearing record warmth for Christmas of mid 70s F (23º C) after a burst of cold earlier this week. I'm afraid that the idea of norms in weather are just as silly as norms in current leadership.
This was taken less than one week ago. It was 60 degrees out that day. Last night into this morning we had a blizzard which dumped over a foot of snow. Go figure...
This David Austin rose was a bare rooted gift, a house warming pressie, if you will. Now beginning to do better climbing one of our pergolas, having acclimatised to a salty air, being by the coast as we are.
Shot using a vintage lens, namely at carl zeis jena ddr pancolor 50mm f1.8
Stunning roses. This is not my photo; it was taken by an acquaintance of mine in about 2015. Shows better larger; press L.

So lately I have had this odd obsession with teasing my hair and doing funky things with it.

Taken in the heavily light polluted area near San Jose, CA. I teased enough detail out of it to clearly see the V-tail of the comet
This is from a 280mm lens on an equatorial tracker. The tracker allowed me to take longer exposures to bring out more detail. This is a stack of 20 exposures each at 30s, f/3.2, ISO200 stacked in Nebulosity4. The stacking further reduces noise and brings out faint details. I had to stack it twice; once for the comet and once for the background stars since the comet is moving relative to the stars, even in the span of 15-20 minutes. Both stacks were composited in Photoshop and a High Pass Filter applied to bring out more detail. It was further cropped and tortured in Lightroom.
Sony A7Rii, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 + 1.4TC, 280mm, f/3.2, 30s, ISO200 for each exposure
It's been rather dry the last 10 days or so and when I seen these Cumulus clouds to the north I was hoping they would turn into rain clouds ad they headed southward. It was not to be and so I'm still waiting on a rain event. Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

Rhianna and her Pampaw (my step-dad) tease each other constantly. they constantly go at it back and forth nonstop when they are together. Here i captured a typical moment - she had robbed his eyeglasses and kept turning the lights on and off on him while he was trying to practice his guitar. She of course wanted his attention because he was doing something other than playing with her.
An early morning wander to see if I could see and get some shots of hares. It was very chilly in the wind, when I arrived just before dawn. I disturbed this pair, whilst I was walking, they were hidden behind a wall and were fully aware of me. They took off. As I watched the familiar sight of rapidly departing hares, I noticed movement at the bottom of the field. It was another hare, scent sniffing. Now, knowing where these two had just been, I set myself and hoped it would head this way. Unfortunately, it must have picked up another scent and went in a different direction. As I was about to move on, the first two re--appeared on the ridge line. How lucky for me. Thought they were going to come close but they stopped after I took this shot and it was only then, that I noticed the wind direction. My scent was going directly to them and they moved away, teasing me with their, (out of lens range), antics. Still was nice to watch them, whilst listening to the lapwings, curlews, skylarks and meadow pippets.
