After a few weeks of teasing on their Instagram feed LEGO last night released details of the next Direct to Consumer set 21137 The Mountain Cave.

Rocking leather jackets, teased hair, and loud music, Nova Rex traveled across America in the 1980s and early 1990s, living the rock 'n roll dream. While never reaching the heights of mega stars such as Mötley Crüe and Quiet Riot, the band packed clubs with screaming fans, released records on major labels, and landed corporate sponsorship. Their wild look, sound, and attitude epitomize the outrageousness and hedonism of the hair band era.
The museum recently collected materials from Nova Rex as part of our ongoing efforts to preserve historical instruments and represent the diverse forms of American popular music. Among the materials recently donated by bassist Kenny Wilkerson are a pair of leather chaps, an instrument sponsored by Budweiser, and a cassette tape featuring a mouse in a tank-top holding a knife. Needless to say, this is the first sound recording featuring a knife-wielding mouse in the museum's collections. These objects are not currently on display in the museum.

At our underwater exhibit at the zoo , it is just this pane of glass that separates the polar bears from a ringed seal. It is difficult to tell who is teasing who. The polar bears dive down to this window and scare the seal , and the seal swims by to wet the bears appetite.
She wanted that thing so bad, and we had to take so many shots to get this one. Eventually we just kind of lucked out and got this one.
I recorded about a million of these kinds of shots, thinking the show was about to begin when in fact it wasn't! XD
But at least there was that little girl to make funny faces at! Heheh.

Dora flies a rat past the nest, but doesn't stop. She took it to a nearby tree and called to the chicks, perhaps trying to lure them out of the nest. This was the only time I saw her do this.

I made my second visit to the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) in November 2011 - what a blast! The TRF is huge, very spread out, with so many shows and performers to check out. Another very enjoyable part of the TRF is just watching the cast members and faces in the crowd - some many people come in costume - and about 99.9% let me take their photos - what a nice bunch!
I hope to be there again in 2012 for more good shooting.
