PCA 242: "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it" -- Confucius
This is the seed pod from a blackgum tree. Most of the time, these things are a nuisance. It occurred to me that the right perspective might make it nicer.
WIT: One nice-looking gum tree pod placed on a piece of dark green fleece fabric. Low-power flash above and slightly to the right with 1/4 CTO gel and diffuser. White card reflector below the image to soften the shadows. 50mm manual lens with short extension tube. Cloned out some schmutz on the fleece.

The legendary Auto Takumar 35mm f/2.3 of 1958-62. In 50 years of buying, trading and using M42 lenses I never owned one of these until stumbling over this one yesterday just a mile from home. It was the world's first fast retrofocus wide angle lens and confirmed Pentax's credentials as a serious camera company. Always rare, now very scarce in the market. Mounted here on Nex 3n.

Lens: Super Takumar 55/2
