I've been 'tagged" by my good friend Girlguyed :)
The idea being I am supposed to post 16 random things about myself you might not know, so here I go......
1) I am partly descended from New Yorkers, and so my being a Yankee fan comes honestly, and I guess that makes me part American...
2) Though I love to climb stuff, I have only roped up twice in my lifetime so far
3) I have a 13 year old son who is autistic and a great dude
4) I too fall on the autism spectrum as I have what is called Asperger's syndrome (essentially a high functioning form of autism, so if sometimes you're not sure where I'm coming from, well, neither am I :D )
5) I abhor violence but I spent over 15 years of my life competing in boxing and martial arts
6) I would have liked to pitch or play center field for the Yankees but despite my efforts just plain didn't have the talent. My boyhood heroes were Mickey Mantle
and Catfish Hunter
7) One of my obscure pursuits is hunting down ancient old growth trees
8) I love to write and haikus are fun !
9) I actually enjoy the west coast rainstorms
10) I went almost the entire first grade without speaking to a single classmate
11) I am married to one of the world's greatest gals
12) My 16 year old daughter Genny competes in the sport of sabre fencing, and she's really good
13a) A world without beer just isn't worth living in !

These are wild fish taken from the Missouri River near Yankton, SD. They will be held and spawned next spring (2021) to produce a large batch of fry that will be released into the Missouri River and studied. Researchers can learn about sturgeon survival, larval drift, growth and more from this type of project.

At first – this is very, very old picture of Lunette, just a month after she arrived to us, today she looks totally different and we are makeing far better pictures, do not worry XD

Yes, we could not to sell her. Every time we want to do it, we sew her a new set of clothing and she mesmerize us as for a first time we saw her ^^

We do not have something like a “grail”, so no, she is not, but also none of dolls is…
4. How long did you have to wait from the moment you decided on the doll to actually buying?
A week maybe? After we were sure that she is “the one” ;)
5. Did you buy it or was it a gift?
We bought her.
6. Why did you choose the doll you did as your first?
She was just perfect, it is very hard to describe. A lot of dolls were beautiful, but only when we were looking at her, our hearts were beating faster ^^”
7. Did you have a character in mind as soon as you saw the doll or did it develop after arrival?
We knew that she will look like a calm, warm and polite person and actually she is like this till today ^^
8. Do any of your friends own the same sculpt?
No! When we were buying her, Iplehouse had only three molds to choice, there were only EIDs (SID, nYIDs, BIDs, KIDs did not exist XD) and nobody had a courage to buy “such a big doll”! So she was unique than… And now Iplehouse has such a wide offer that our friends do not choose such an old mold XD
9. If you could go back and change your decision to buy the doll you did as your first, would you?
Never!
10. How did you learn about BJDs?
We found some blog about dollfies on a pinger.pl and we were just lost XD

Be careful what you read! :P Actually though, I'm just sitting here not feeling well and needing a distraction, this is perfect.
#1: What's a nickname only your family calls you?
They don't call me any nicknames but my mom has the usual pet names... like sweetie.. and when I was little, she'd call me "Rachel Angel" because I was her little angel. :3
#2: What's a weird habit of yours?
I have to know what time it is at all times and I count how many hours of sleep I got the night before. I also have to be early for everything... being on time feels late.
#3: Do you have any weird phobias?
It's not weird because it's supposedly one of the most common but I shake and hyperventilate when I just THINK about public speaking and when I actually get up to do it, I forget everything I'm supposed to say. I've even cried in front of people. :|
#4: What's a song you secretly LOVE to blast and belt out when your alone?
On My Mind by Cody Simpson xD (or iYiYi by him).
#5: What's one of your biggest pet peeves?
When people say "k" instead of "okay"... I'll always think you're mad or blowing me off and I'll want to stop talking to you.
#6: What's one of your nervous habits?
I laugh a lot and my hands get either really cold or really sweaty and gross.
#7: What side of the bed do you sleep on?
Right side?
#8: What was your first stuffed animal and it's name?
I don't know about my first but one of my most memorable was a seal that my dad surprised me with when I was really little.
#9: What's the drink you always order at Starbucks?
I don't get Starbucks because my school has a different coffee company :X ...I usually get a mint iced coffee or chai tea.
#10: What's a beauty rule you preach but never actually practice?
Get a lot of sleep ...and I never sleep (I blame school).
#11: Which way do you face in the shower?
I turn around in the shower... sometimes I face the door, sometimes the back, sometimes the shower head, sometimes the other wall... it adds excitement to my life.
#12: Do you have any "weird" body skills?
Not really.. I can't even whistle. :'(
#13: What's your favorite comfort food to eat that's bad, but you love to eat anyway?
Cookie dough... I almost like cookie dough better than I like cookies.
#14: What's a phrase or exclamation you always say?
okai, hai, whatsapwitchu ~ but I don't think any of those are "mine"... I don't get possessive like that.

Vancouver, BC – Staff and volunteers at the Vancouver Aquarium are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tag, a 15 year-old male Steller sea lion.
Tag was diagnosed with oral cancer last winter and was in treatment until his death in the early hours of this morning.
Prior to his diagnosis, Tag had a 10 year history of oral and dental problems, including several procedures to remove diseased teeth. A procedure last February for removal of abnormal tissue and teeth allowed a biopsy to be performed which indicated cancer.
During the spring Tag began chemotherapy and laser surgery. In addition, he was treated with new anti-inflammatory and gastric medications intended to make him much more comfortable. The level of expertise, professional resources and treatment Tag received reflected the Vancouver Aquarium’s commitment to the highest standards of animal health care.
“Experts from around the world helped us to develop a very sophisticated treatment plan aimed at ensuring that Tag would have the best quality of life possible for his remaining months with us.” said Dr. Martin Haulena, Vancouver Aquarium Staff Veterinarian.
Animal care staff observed abnormal bleeding in Tag’s mouth. Dr. Haulena decided to anaesthetize Tag last evening to further examine his mouth and to perform surgery in the Aquarium’s veterinary hospital facilities. The surgery revealed major problems in the mouth caused by a highly invasive and progressive carcinoma. Despite the medical team’s best efforts Tag failed to fully recover from the procedure and passed away shortly before 2am.
“I am very proud of our animal husbandry and veterinary teams that worked selflessly over the last few weeks. Tag was truly one of the most unique marine mammals that any of us have had the pleasure to work with. He will always be remembered for his noble heart, playful character, and gentle soul. He allowed us incredible insight into the world of Steller sea lions.” said Clint Wright, Vancouver Aquarium, Senior Vice President, Operation & and Planning.
Tag first arrived at the Aquarium as a two-week-old pup in 1993 as part of an original group of Steller sea lions participating in studies conducted by UBC Marine Mammal Research Unit researchers who are part of the North Pacific Universities Marine Mammal Research Consortium. Since 1980, more than 80% of the world Steller population has disappeared, leaving fewer than 75,000 individuals. Tag participated in comprehensive studies, the first of their kind, designed to explore the hypotheses that are thought to explain the population decline. The studies have provided hugely valuable information that is otherwise unobtainable from wild animals.
The Vancouver Aquarium is a self-supporting, non-profit association dedicated to effecting the conservation of aquatic life through display and interpretation, conservation practices, education, research, and direct action. Please visit www.vanaqua.org to learn more about the Vancouver Aquarium.
I got tagged by cinnamon girl ♡ and promised to play along, although I admit I have been a bit slow to react. But here you go.
Ten facts:
1. I picked up photography from my father, who was an avid amateur, as am I.
2. Sketching and painting my grandfather taught me. We used to send eachother drawings when I was a teeenager. Mine were amateurish, awkward and often willed and pointless — his were artistic, skilled, beautiful and full of anecdotes from his childhood on a farm.
3. When I was six I had a parrot named Odysseus. It could only say one word ("Hi!"). I later realized that Odysseus was a she - when the eggs started coming.
4. I love cameras almost as much as I love photography. I currently have six ... no seven working cameras.
5. I believe fervently in sharing — ideas, knowledge, techniques, materials. Give it all away. You'll end up much richer. Give an idea away, two more will come to you; and you will have gained a friend in the process.
6. I had a toy steam engine when I was a kid. My older brother, who is twelve years my senior, put wheels on it. Boy was that cool. We stoked it up as hard as we could and measured its top speed (12 km/h). My brother's experiments on his own machine were less fortunate. He welded the safety valve shut and it exploded.
7. I am an author and make my living by translating books.
8. One of my books was translated into Korean - something I am really proud of, I have to admit. It is so cool to sit there looking at your own words in a language you don't understand.
9. I have a really cool office, but I never go there.
10. My brother (the one with the steam engine) is a naval officer and he has taught me to sail a sail boat. Every summer I spend as much time as possible on the water. This year we plan to sail from Copenhagen to Bergen in Norway. That should make for some neat photos :)

Rhuen's got a secret...
fui indicada pela marcia fofa *-* e demorei mil anos pra finalmente fazer, mas aqui está!
1) Meu nome é Marcela Costa Vincenzi e NINGUÉM consegue escrever direito. Já vi Vicenti, Vicenzi, Vicenzo/Vincenzo, Vicenze. Sabe, não é difícil ¬¬ Maldita linhagem italiana, briga até no nome! hauha
2) Um dia fui uma criança prodígio, mas não sei pra onde meu talento fugiu ahuah Já fiz aula de tudo nessa vida, até ponto russo (já dei pinta de modelo e tecladista tbm ahuah)! Mas parece que hoje em dia não sobra tempo pra nada... Entrei em medicina na PUC Campinas no meio do ano e já to atolada em trabalhos, provas e preocupações. Férias, vem neném :)
3) Meu vicio por esmaltes é de looonga história. Quando eu era uma pimpolha, gostava de inovar hsuahsuahs Na época que era moda francesinha, eu fazia a minha própria, apelidada de francesa assassina (fazia a ponta vermelha), tbm desenhava corações com o próprio pincel do esmalte (o que ficava horrível) e apertava a unha úmida pra ficar amassada (nunca entendi o pq tbm ahuah). Ninguém apoiava muito minhas decisões esmaltísticas, mas eu adorava. Ai depois passei pela pré adolescência com certa vergonha e só usava esmaltes de boa moça (bo-ring). Até que comecei a namorar o Rafa, que adora unha vermelha e eu voltei a “ousar”. Hoje em dia ele não suporta mais, pq sempre que eu vou lá eu falo ‘olha amor, pintei hoje’ e ele responde ‘mas é igual a da outra vez’ HUSAUSHAHUOSOUAS homens não sabem diferenciar cor, definitivamente.
4) O namorado em questão (Rafael) é meu amor faz 4 anos e 3 meses. A gente se conheceu pelo Orkut e quase 1 ano depois, após brigas e outros namoricos, nos conhecemos. Eu fiz ele parar de galinhagem e ele conseguiu com que eu agüentasse ele mais do que 4 meses (era meu máximo até então), o resto é história.
5) Tenho minhas fases de muita sorte ou muito azar. Atualmente to em uma de azar supremo. Sofri 3 acidentes de carro em 1 mês, meu carro ficou na oficina o mês inteiro e quando voltou o jardineiro sem querer jogou uma pedra no vidro (que quebrou completamente) e tcharan, voltou pra oficina ¬¬ Tenho a impressão que vivo uma relação de amor e ódio com o meu carro, eu amo ele e ele me odeia HUOSHASA :(
6) Sou diabética desde os 7 anos (tenho 19). Por razões emocionais, desenvolvi a doença e perdi 7 kgs em 1 mês, sendo que eu já era um palito. No começo foi bem difícil, mas hoje me trato com um médico que eu amo de paixão (parece o papai Noel, velhinho simpático) e que permitiu que eu tenha uma dieta normal, incluindo doces, desde que eu me controle direito.
7) Tenho muita facilidade pra emagrecer, mas engordar tbm ahuah Do começo do ano pra cá, só de ficar em curso integral e parar de comer besteira, perdi 6 kgs o0 Mas logo logo eu recupero (férias = síndrome de Garfield). Minha mãe vive reclamando que eu não como direito, e em partes eu admito, pq sou fresca pra comida. Não como carne desde bebê, por falta de gosto mesmo. ODEIO cebola, alho e só tomo o caldinho do feijão ahuaha Mas de resto, eu como a maioria. Tenho uma queda especial por salgadinhos (principalmente de ‘isopor’), miojo da Mônica, coca zero e bolo de cenoura :B e AMO de paixão comida italiana, mamma mia!
8) Sou extremamente viciada por filmes e séries. ADORO filmes de romance, me derreto que nem manteiga com historinhas água com açúcar e por isso tenho uma coleção imensa, que fico vendo e revendo eternamente (orgulho e preconceito, por exemplo, assisto todo mês uahua Mr Darcy, oh my *-*). Assisto religiosamente séries como true blood, the vampire diaries, gossip girl, pretty little liars, grey’s anatomy, private practice, drop dead diva (Jane linda s2), cougar town, two and a half men, the big bang theory, (...) entre outras. Já assisti todos os episódios de friends e sempre dou risada com as mesmas coisas, er hauha E ah, provavelmente eu sou a fã mais velha de toy story suahsuas Só dava eu acima de 7 anos na estréia de toy story 3 3D, fazer o que...
9) Sou apaixonada por livros tbm, principalmente em inglês. Adorava minhas aulas de inglês e pretendo fazer algo relacionado a línguas como hobby, no futuro (pq agora não dá!).
10) Sou totalmente otimista e idiota. Quando não tem ninguém em casa ou quando eu to triste, ligo alguma música bem alto e fico pulando pela casa que nem uma pulga louca. Costumo tomar banho ouvindo música animada e alta, pra ninguém se encantar demais com a minha bela voz UHSAUHSUAHUOS Atualmente to viciada na OMG do Usher, pq como eu disse pra minha amiga-comparsa, é uma música completa, tem parte de dança rápida, dança conjunta e dança lenta (e todas super zuadas se sou eu que to dançando...). Mas o importante é ser feliz né? E isso pode ter ctz que eu sou, 24 hrs por dia huaha
não vou indicar ninguém, pq acho que todo mundo já fez... mas quem quiser, sinta-se a vontade!

So here we go:
01.I hate the shape of my face, that’s why I always have my hair open.
02.I spend way too much time on reading fashion blogs.

05.My favourite place to read at home is my window board.

09.Concerning my meals the consistency is very important to me. I don’t like viscous or foamy stuff like pudding or sauce.

Zac had booked a private weight-room, equipped with both free weights and machines, so that their would be no distractions or interference from other club members.
What Jim did notice in the locker room, however,was that a number of very well muscled young men involved Zac in conversations that seemed more like business meetings that casual chats - and it was obvious that Zac was very well known at the club.
Jim, however, was relieved that nobody accosted him in the changing rooms, as he was not only slightly intimidated by some the the club members, but there was also the problem of entering into casual conversation where his inability to provide any personal information might prove awkward.

Omgosh. I was tagged by two people, whitney and KJ. This was all a very long time ago, so here it is.
10 things about me you probably don't know:
0. I write a lot.
1. I am Vietnamese with just a pinch of French. People assume I'm Chinese/Jap/Korean, whatever. So now you know, don't get it wrong!
2. I had the cutest/awesomest little point-and-shoot but I put a bottle of fuze that wasn't closed all the way into my purse along with my camera and it dieeed, sadly. My mom was in Vietnam at the time so I did the whole "...daddy? daddy, dearest?" act and he let me buy my D60 which I paid for myself. My mom was very angry when I told her, but she was very very far away and could not harm me. ;D
3. I have a boyfriend whom I love very much. We've been dating for 17+ months and occasionally he'll take my 365 picture. He puts up with my "OMG, hold on! I gotta take a picture of this!" moments very frequently.
4. I have GAD which stands for generalized anxiety disorder. Not many of my friends even know, but it explains some things about me. I don't blame my problems on it, but realistically, some days it does rule my life. It's like my brain is permanantly fogged up.
5. In many of my pictures (like this), you'll see my baby cousin, Emily. She's two years old now and seriously SMART. She's half Viet half white. Her daddy died when she was 11 months old because of cancer. It may be one of the reasons why I have a maternal instinct towards her sometimes. She's more than a cousin to me, sort of like a little sister.
6. I'm really bad with things I own. Like my camera dying of a juice overdose... and my dog has chewed up like, 3 of my SD cards, my lens cap fell off the back of my aunt's car cause I left it there and a car ran over it. I will show you pictures later. It still works though! And somehow a leg of my tripod broke and after I duct-taped it, I lost the attachment to it.
7. I'm skinny and it's not because I have an eating disorder or anything. Let's just be clear. It leads to some insecurities because people want to be skinny while I don't. I'm trying very hard to gain some and it'd be easier if my parents wouldn't cook seafood 24/7.
8. I am EXTREMELY nearsighted. In my pictures I rarely wear my glasses, but if you ever see me in real life, I will be wearing them. Without them, my vision looks like a photo of bokeh, seriously.
9. I am addicted to things such as gum, spicy cheetos, romance novels, etc., not weed, cigarettes, or alchohol. I don't judge based on that, but I think it's just asking for a downward spiral. I have better things to do with my time then try to be someone I'm not.
