The friend of the young men who were my guides in the Thar desert made this happen. He slowly travelled down the slope of the sand dune until he was almost touching the sun. I will be forever grateful to this kind man, a total stranger, and his camel for helping me create this scene.
The Bearwolves at The Finsbury giving their final performance and a farewell to my son Alexis on the left who is beginning a new chapter in his life and settling down with the love of his life Moira in Germany. Saddened that I am losing him, I wish them both joy and happiness for the rest of their lives together.
The river Alblas is a small river in the Dutch province Zuid-Holland.
Bleskensgraaf is really called Bleskensgraaf and Hofwegen. They were combined in 1855. The village forms part of the municipality of Molenwaard. Apart from a number of old farms and a flourmill, Bleskensgraaf does not have many monuments.
The village lies in the middle of the polder landscape of the Alblasserwaard, on the small bog river Alblas. There is the Natuurpad [Nature trail] Bleskensgraaf, which also passes along the hamlet of De Donk, which lies on a seven-metre high hill. A ‘donk’ is a type of sand dune which originated in the ice age. Some protrude above the peat and clay ground.
The Alabaster coast in one of the jewels of the
Normandy regions. It offers some of the most
magnificent cliffs in France and Europe.
All along the coast, you can appreciate the
white chalk sculpted by Nature as well as the
charming settlements established by humans.

The Cube is the name of the middle part in the new building of the Hamburger Kunsthalle. Here's the view up. The exhibition rooms with contemporary and modern art are located around this central part on the individual floors. Very interesting, light-flooded architecture, which presents the exhibits largely in natural daylight.

The Cathedral in Seville stands alone rather than being placed in the centre of a mosque and is all the better for it. The cathedral is vast and impossible to photograph in its entirety this is a section of the North side of the building . In the background you can see the tall Giralda tower that dominates the Seville skyline

The legend says that the Ariki (king) Hotu Matu’a lived in a beautiful continent called Hiva. One night in his dream he received a message that his land would sink, and that he needed to find a place to take his people. Following a wise seers advice, Hotu Matu’a sent seven explorers towards the morning sun, in search of a favorable land to live and grow yams (a staple in their nutrition).
Seeing the World with a cRazY Eye
That's the Reason I am so incredibly shy
But mind you, I can visualize
What others cannot realize
I know my Eye is somehow cRaZy
And sometimes behaving kind of hazy
Beauty - I know - is in the Eye of the Beholder
That's what you learn when you grow older
But today let's celebrate some CrAzInEsS
And don't forget the Tenderness :-)

Another one from Rifugio Lagazuoi in the Dolomites. One of my favorite locations. It went from being sunny, to dramatically engulfed by clouds and thunderstorms, to beautifully peaceful at sunset. This photo was when the clouds were about to shroud the mountains. It's hard to imagine, but earlier the same day we had hiked through those seemingly vertical rock towers of the Tofane range in the center, on a trail cut through a notch (you can see parts of the trail on the flatter expanse in the center).
The Ark recalls the time that Schokland was an island in the Zuiderzee. Now it is embedded in the reclaimed land of Flevoland.
The everlasting gaze is a great title by Smashing Pumpkins, and when there's sun streaming through gaps in the clouds it holds my everlasting gaze. It's great not to have to spend ages getting rid of spots on the sensor, so for a few weeks , I'll revel in the new camera euphoria. It'll save me hours . Just noticed I forgot to set the date on the new camera, it was actually taken yesterday :))
The Ruff (Philomachus pugnax) is a strictly protected, almost 30 cm large snipe bird of the Paläarktis, which breeds in the northern tundra, but also in moist lowlands and moors in all Eurasia. Campers are migratory birds.
The interesting thing about March and April is the unpredictable weather, on one single day you can experience four seasons. Bad Oeynhausen, Ostwestfalen, Germany
The archipelago is made up of 36 small islands with rocky headlands which afford shelter to numerous aquatic birds. The islands’ origins are volcanic. The Solentiname Islands are a National Monument of Nicaragua.
The Besançon Citadel is one of the masterpieces of Vauban that has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and stands as a 12 ha remarkable example of the military architecture of the 17th century.

The stone of Coyote Buttes has been eroded by wind and water over Eons into a myriad of forms. The minerals seeping and collecting along concentration gradients give the rock its sharply defined colored layers . This one is called the Control Tower.
Taken at the end of August 2018, 'The Empire' along with every other shop in the block is closed, awaiting redevelopment (and still is today). The shop wasn't long refitted, and they have re-opened elsewhere locally - so I suppose it struck back!

The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift in central Scotland, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. The lift is named after Falkirk, the town in which it is located. It reconnects the two canals for the first time since the 1930s. It opened in 2002 as part of the Millennium Link project.
The wheel raises boats by 24 metres (79 ft), but the Union Canal is still 11 metres (36 ft) higher than the aqueduct which meets the wheel. Boats must also pass through a pair of locks between the top of the wheel and the Union Canal. The Falkirk Wheel is the only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world, and one of two working boat lifts in the United Kingdom, the other being the Anderton Boat Lift.

A welcome spot for a breather on the way up to Ringing Roger and Kinder Scout. An opportunity to capture the pre-dawn colour and mist in Edale Valley.
Slight issue with the farm building too close to the edge of the frame, but worth sharing.
