Made in New Brunswick honey, maple syrup and blueberry syrup. Shop local!
(honey and syrup were used when trying ideas for the dailyshoot.
Inside the small foreign market. I picked up a bottle of Maple Syrup ($7.00!), Sue Bee Honey ($5.00) and Hershey's Chocolate Sauce($6.00) which are all hard to find here.
Found the recipe in an Orange Syrup Bottle we bought during our holiday. Refreshing, well balanced with a delicate citrus-boozy amalgamation. Favorite
Ingredients:
2 oz Gin
1 oz Orange Syrup
Add to a rock glass filled with ice, stir then add 2 oz of Soda Water.
Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. I swear it hasn't been pleasant any year I've been yet. No snow this year, either, which seemed to make it extra depressing.
All that sugar, though, made up for it. The children were very happy and very full of pancakes and maple syrup.
The simple syrup base for mojitos or I suppose, mint julips. One part sugar, one part water boiled until it all comes together. I steep mint leaves in the hot syrup.
For a container we washed out an old wine bottle.
After all that boiling, here's pure goodness!

On November 16th Over 80 volunteers attended Project Open Hand's first annual Volunteer Appreciation Pancake Breakfast. Volunteers enjoyed Pancakes with maple syrup and fruit compot, with eggs, and bacon. In addition, volunteers enjoyed fun rounds of Bingo with prizes, enjoyed an opportunity to tour the facility, and a chance to enter a raffle for Wine Tasting tour or autographed Giants memorabilia!
