Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. I swear it hasn't been pleasant any year I've been yet. No snow this year, either, which seemed to make it extra depressing.
All that sugar, though, made up for it. The children were very happy and very full of pancakes and maple syrup.
My granddaughter, Ruby, decided that I'd look better with a wig, so used an app she downloaded onto her mother's phone to doctor a photo of me. She's not quite five years old. Scary, isn't it - both that a four-year old can do that, and the result!

From Syria. This is traditionally mixed with water and ice cubes, enjoyed as a refreshing drink when it's very hot.
It's not rose water though- it's rose syrup. They are both very different.
What happens when I eat breakfast faster than everyone else, and notice the sun’s playing with some amber color in the syrup bottle… I take pictures.
