The old switch off the main track awaits the scrapper. The new main track will go just under the right-hand rail of the turnout. A new signal cantilever was installed a few weeks ago to control the new mains and a side track. The double track is part of the north end Sounder "expansion" project, eliminating the single-track segments between King Street and Everett. The new 2nd main in Interbay Yard will increase mobility though the yard and allow trains to move faster.
I missed the Switch photo contest deadline by less than 30 minutes because I didn’t realise Korean time is ahead of ours oTL I thought I had enough time to finish up a faceup commission but I was wrong :c

It's been a /long/ time since I've seen an Alco chirping around (The last ones I think I saw were a pair of the Napa Valley Wine Train locomotives on the last trip Julie & I made down to Napa Valley, but that's been maybe 17 years?)

The squads had 4 minutes to complete this challenge. They started by flipping a tire - side over side - 30 yards down the field and back. Next, they did a buddy carry of a squad mate 30 yards and switched positions to come back. Finally, they had to bear crawl down and back the 30 yard distance. After completion, their squad leader gave them new coordinates, which they had to plot on their maps to discover their next challenge point. They ran off as a squad to find what was waiting.

switch on 2 was today and went really well. We're delighted with her particularly as there has been some response to sounds already.
Well done eleanor you're diong so well.
We have a lot to learn about looking after them and the like but we'll succeed as I'm sure the benefits will out weigh the faffing hands down!
