i mounted the switch in an area that i could reach while wearing the helmet. this is on the side of the head, right under the vents.

The red switches are for signals. The operator could let the trains switch tracks by throwing the blue levers. The blue levers were safety locked by the black levers. The most complex track switch involved throwing 14 levers.
No fly by wire here. The levers are physically connected to the tracks and signals. The furthest switch was a quarter-mile away from the tower. Pull that switch and you'd be pulling or pushing a quarter-mile long pipe to change tracks.

I missed the Switch photo contest deadline by less than 30 minutes because I didn’t realise Korean time is ahead of ours oTL I thought I had enough time to finish up a faceup commission but I was wrong :c
