A switcher engine working DeKalb, IL, is extremely rare, so a shot of UP 1391 was in order on 4-27-11 as it shuffled around a work train in the siding tracks on the east side of town.
Mass Coastal Railroad's Taunton based train MC-3 is working in the compact little Wharf Yard tucked up beneath the shadow of the massive Braga Bridge down by Battleship Cove as they pull and spot loads of flour on the State Pier. The cars are transloaded here and trucked a couple miles south to the Gold Medal Bakery because the tracks that pass directly beside the plant are OOS beyond Ferry Street.
Located on the Taunton River along Water Street, the Fall River State Pier has two deep water berths and on dock rail and a 96,000 square foot terminal building. Owned by the commonwealth it has bee operated under contract by the not for profit Fall River Line Pier Company since 1946.
In charge this day are a pair of rebuilt GP38-3s, LTEX 3815 and MC 2012. The former began life in Jun. 1965 as a GP35 for the Santa Fe numbered 1388. It was renumbered ATSF 3388 and painted into the yellow bonnet scheme in the early 1970 and then was remanufactured into a GP35u at Cleburne in Apr. 1983. In 1998 it was patched and renumbered BNSF 2888 which it kept until leaving the roster for Larry's Truck and Electric in 2015. The latter traces its roots back to Oct. 1966 as a GP40 for the Milwaukee Road numbered 199. It later passed to the Soo Line and then after retirement was derated and rebuilt as a lease unit numbered GMTX 2685 and then after that spent time working for BNSF before coming here about a year ago in July 2022.

Fully Charged Live 2021 (aka Fully Charged Outside) was the latest event to be held at the Farnborough International site in Farnborough, Hants. The three-day event hosted a huge selection of electric vehicles including two PSV products. There was also an internal Park & Ride bus service operating using 8 buses over the course of the event with the addition of an occasional trip to Farnborough (Main) railway station.
I visited on the overcast Saturday and returned on the sunny Sunday. For the record, buses seen were:

IAIS 716 switches cars of cattle feed at a small yard in Council Bluffs. The cars are loaded at elevators in Iowa and sent to Texas via the BNSF.

All railroad switches at this station are manual.
Today, that is unique. At least in the capitol city.

Some of the biggest arguments I've had in life are also some of the silliest. And in hindsight both us were right. We just saw things differently.
When I glanced at this table, the light happened to be hitting my Kindle and Switch joycons just right, so I couldn't resist a quick shot with my new phone camera (which itself is working out quite well).

Ex-WP 3557 GP40-2 UP 9991 and ex-MP 699 GP38-2 switch by the Rosboro lumber mill in Springfield. The engineer appears to be blowing on his hand, which would make sense as it was about 20 degrees.
A CN train working in the yard at Effingham, Illinois, has backed out and halted north of the diamonds with the CSX St. Louis Line to clear the block. It shown above heading back into the yard.

I couldn't tell what model this switcher is but it serves the Cargill grain elevator complex in Gilman, Illinois, adjacent to the Chicago Subdivision of Canadian National.
This really weird formation caught my eye...first it was going to the right then it switched, Lol to the left....I'm sure there is some logical scientific answer but I call it, switch.
