An early evening desert thunderstorm brews in the distance as a set of Trona EMD's go about some switching moves at the UP interchange in Searles before returning home well after dark.
This really weird formation caught my eye...first it was going to the right then it switched, Lol to the left....I'm sure there is some logical scientific answer but I call it, switch.

Switchers from EMD, FM and ALCo congregate around the turntable at Milwaukee Road's Nahant Yard in Davenport, IA. The Dri-Line S3's are in storage with their roles taken over by hand-me-down EMD's from the MILW and BN.

The Benicia yard locomotives, this time consisting of GP15-1 No. 623, GP38-2 No. 718, and GP40-2 No. 1372, help switch boxcars at the beer distribution facility in Benicia, CA on the YOZ60R yard job.

The late Bob Hughes worked in tower SS38 for several years under both the New Haven Railroad and Penn Central operation at Stamford. Bob provided us with this interior photo image of the South Norwalk tower SS44, where in later years he supported the tower museum.

A pair of EMD end-cab switchers owned by the Luzerne & Susquehanna are seen pulling tank cars from the Reading & Northern interchange at Pittston to an unloading facility at Avoca. Out of all the rail operations in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, the L&S is by far the hardest to track down and requires some luck and good timing. They are actually operating on Reading & Northern rails here, on what was once the Lehigh Valley's main line between Buffalo and points east.
Since Emmett got a new body it freed up his cobbled together spray painted body for my new Jasper and it’s nice having a Jasper who can wear his default clothing lol.
The Köf III pulls an empty out of the Bauknecht warehouse. Due to the tight curve radius they can only take one car at a time down this segment of the spur.

The California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento is a tribute to the role of the "iron horse" in connecting California to the rest of the nation. The museum is located at 111 I St in Sacramento.
The museum features 21 restored locomotives and railroad cars, some dating back to 1862. There is a full-scale diorama of an 1860s construction site high in the Sierra Nevada, featuring the locomotive Gov. Stanford, as well as a bridge elevated 24 feet (7 m) above the museum floor.
A reconstructed passenger station and freight depot circa 1867 is one block from the museum. During the summer, a steam train takes visitors from the depot to Miller Park and back along the Sacramento River using their tourist line, the Sacramento Southern Railroad. The Sacramento Southern Railroad owns the abandoned Southern Pacific Walnut Grove Branch right-of-way that extends south from Sacramento along the eastern bank of the Sacramento River. A few miles of track were rebuilt along the levee near Freeport, California as part of a US Army Corps of Engineers project. The CSRRM hopes to one day have a longer excursion line, perhaps as far as Hood or Walnut Grove, California. At that location the railroad passengers could disembark the train and take a tourist steamboat back up the Sacramento River to Old Sacramento.
The museum has its origins in 1937, when a group of railroad enthusiasts in the San Francisco Bay Area formed the Pacific Coast Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society[1]. This organization worked for years to promote the idea of a railroad museum, donating 30 historic locomotives and cars to the California Department of Parks and Recreation to be the nucleus of a State-operated museum in Sacramento. The Museum's first facility, the Central Pacific Railroad Passenger Station, opened in 1976. The Railroad History Museum was completed in 1981. Steam-powered passenger train service on the Sacramento Southern Railroad began in 1984, with the Central Pacific Railroad Freight Depot opening three years later. Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown was added to the Museum complex during 1992.
NYSW local WS3 makes up their train at Cross St with NYSW SD40T-2 3014 leading a CSX GP40 LHF. The 3014 was built in April of 1978 for the Southern Pacific and still sees active service on the Southern Division from time to time.
I was lucky enough to get one of the new OLED versions of the Nintendo Switch. It's honestly night and day better than the original one!

Arriving at Townsend, the Helena Switch gets to work. The first order of business is splitting the consist, so that SD40-2 262 can be dropped off for ballast train duty. How classy is that Northern Pacific-era searchlight signal bridge?
Fully Charged Live 2021 (aka Fully Charged Outside) was the latest event to be held at the Farnborough International site in Farnborough, Hants. The three-day event hosted a huge selection of electric vehicles including two PSV products. There was also an internal Park & Ride bus service operating using 8 buses over the course of the event with the addition of an occasional trip to Farnborough (Main) railway station.
I visited on the overcast Saturday and returned on the sunny Sunday. For the record, buses seen were:
