Harness the power of the sea by building tidal barrages to exploit the movement of the water caused by tidal currents is the next move of researchers and governments. But what are the advantages and impacts on our environment?

“If you have two loaves of bread, sell one and buy a lily” - Chinese proverb

I can shoot frames for hours. The movement and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks sooths me to the point where i totally forget time and surroundings. So frequently, after water shooting sessions, i end up with hundreds of very similar frames and people around me say: " Oh, but they all look the same" well, uh... not for me. I can notice the smallest differences between all the frames and relate them to every thought crossing my mind while i was shooting 'em. This one was shot standing from a very high spot on the cliff look down to sea. (see where Luis is standing on the previous shot)

October. Fall has started and no rain is predicted for the next couple weeks. Well, that was weeks ago. Today is a gray rainy day and i must confess i was longing for this but I do love, love a colorful day!

Israel’s agricultural experience is unique. Despite the pervasive shortage of water, historic

soil erosion and dryland conditions, a 2017 OECD report recognizes Israel’s annual growth rate in total factor productivity for agriculture as being far above the world average.

Israel’s innovations in agricultural technologies, institutional framework and policies have already begun to

show their potential to contribute to progress in improving conditions for smallholders in

Africa and Asia.

i can spend hours looking and shooting wildflowers. Actually i could spend hours looking and shooting anything. I just forget everything else in this world. It's definitely an addiction but it's also called "practice the art of seeing". True, the more images you take with your camera, the better you will become at seeing how your camera sees. Of course, this a great excuse for endless pleasure hours :)))

It's amazing how fast color temperature changes when a new day rises. Warmer colors at the lower end of the color temperature range: Yellow, orange and red merge in a graded scale of color.

My dear friend T. shot yesterday while enjoying the most beautiful, tranquil scenario and after watching the great ball of fire rise up, a very special moment i have to tell you. I've never seen such a beautiful sunrise...

A tribute to 2 best friends: Teresa and Luís. Thank you for loving the same type of scenarios, peaceful moods and nature as much as i do.

March 07 While the sun was still strong to shoot the water, the cliff was illuminated by golden light and wrapped by a vivacious blue sky. It really deserved to be shot! :)

No surprises . You can see the big versions of this and other shots here.

Reloaded with a bit more of sky!:) Oh! big is cool!

The day i shot this was just an incredible weather day: we had a stormy cloudy sunrise, enjoyed a sunny and warm day and met a big storm and rain at end of the day. All in one! Geez! my camera couldn't take it anymore. ok, that's it for today but i still have a thousand shots from the weekend. :)

beyond, big!

Portugal accounts for 50% of the world cork harvest. Cork Oaks live about 150-250 years. Here you cannot legally cut down these beauties except for forest management felling of old, or unproductive. It's a protected species and unbelievable beautifull!! See the large versions of this and other works here!

Due to the recent Flickr changes and the censorship policies some Friends are moving to Ipernity! Although i do not have my photographs there yet, i also opened a single account and hung there a bit. It's a cool place, very similar to flickr. I might even starting publishing there if Ipernity offers me a PRO account, LOL. Check it out www.ipernity.com/home/matildeb

Last sunday, after raining all night and morning, the afternoon was superb. Like somebody would say: After a storm comes bonanza!

The sea was very rough today, and dangerous, with the tide coming up very fast. I just realized that we will have full moon, again, 4 days. Frost Moon, as they call it, is the first full moon after Harvest Moon which happened in October (see photo). Frost Moon, appears brighter than other full moons and it occurs at the point when the moon is closest to the earth due to the elliptical orbit. We could feel her strength in the sea waters, today. This is a 102' exposure way after the sun was gone. While the composition is a result of the impossibility of going any further on the terrain, the blues are great. You must agree.

At the window. A gorgeous view from my friend's house.

A friend is someone who walks in when the whole world has walked out.

This is Teresa, my friend.

It's a lagoon called Lagoa de Mira. It is a beautiful place, the bad part of it's story is that politicians have started to create these artificial islands in the middle of it, that do make nice photographs but are totally stupid and are not necessary since this place is just gorgeous all by itself. Somehow we need to stop creative politicians!

Beautiful morning, wonderful light and the hope to see it again tomorrow. rise up

Frozen moments from our software house Annual Meeting Best software house in Lisbon :) and all really cool nerds! Check 'em out.

Sunrise, IMHO, it's the most higly rewarding moment to spend close to nature when you are a photographer. There is nothing like it. It's by far my most favorite time of the day to wonder around with my camera. The silent moments, the bird singing, the fog and dew that goes away with the first warming sunlight rays, wild flowers, some simple yet elegant, others colorful and a lot more sophisticated, a breakfast picnic under the old oak tree. Simple moments that pull me up and make me happy, a great boost to start the week! Have a nice one, everybody.

Oh yeah, the big size rocks!!

In life, the paths you take and the choices you make are all about finding your place in the world.

Shot at Nations Park (Parque das Nações) around 6.30 p.m.

"Santiago is the very old Cuban fisherman whose been unable to catch a fish for eighty four days. Santiago has an apprentice called Manolin. Manolin adores the old man but his parents tell him he must stop fishing with Santiago because he is not catching any fish or making any money."

Ernest Hemingway, "The old man and the sea" 1952.

These words remind me of problems traditional fishermen are currently struggling with caused by overfishing done by huge and sophisticated vessels that sweep away the bottom of the sea, polution, bycatch (the killing of many species while fishing others), fishnet sizes, lost fishnets responsible for the killings of hundreds, may be thousands, of mammals and other related problems. We have to learn to preserve what we have while we still have time. Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium ( I love the MBAYAQ) and learn what you can do to help Save the Oceans!

For thousands of people fun starts here, every friday and saturday night, at the dock of the river Tagus, really close to the bridge. Bars and bar hoping, restaurants, discos, a huge place outside where people have drinks and enjoy a great view. Seasons are changing, summertime is very close and the great fun is about to start .View large, it's cool!

It is imperative that we implement a system of ecolonomic homeostasis to fight against the current anthropotechnogenic economic, social and environmental crises. Recent global economic and political instability has revealed the shortcomings of our current capitalist system. It further confirms the necessity for an ultramodern paradigm shift. On account of the deleterious impact of the financialization of the economic ecosystem, we must introduce an oligopolistic system that can be sustainably managed. The Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) is what is needed to fulfill our sustainable development goals. Environmental awareness must be the center of our ethos as we work to reduce our anthroposphere periphery in pursuit of global co-immunity. Not only must we manipulate living organisms through science and engineering to create commodities, we must also manipulate the Anthropos through cryptoeconomic engineering.

This new cryptospheric ecotechnic cybernetic system will revolve around a cyber-physical environmental intelligence. This transhuman technosphere of 15 minute city ecoregions will adopt a sustainable economic welfare system that will revolve around harvesting the body’s energy. You will be a collective of communities, a multitude of capital. We will combine biomimetics and thermoeconomics to economically rebalance the core-periphery dynamic. Xenocommodification: all money creation must have biophysical embedding—666. This thermalisation of thermoeconomics will be globally self-replicated.

In short: take the Mark of the Beast and become transhuman—embrace the techno-Beast system, because techno-animism is the way of the future!

These nerds want an economic system that revolves around the environment—a Social Credit Score System that will be linked to your Carbon Footprint and to the United Nations 17 goals of Sustainable Development. The ultimate goal is to tie this eco-economic system together with transhumanism—the merging of man and microchip…data capitalism (data totalitarianism).

Warning: “Constantly be on your guard so that your hearts will not be loaded down with self-indulgence, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, or that day will take you by surprise like a trap, because it will come on everyone who lives on the face of the earth. So be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)

It was quiet, so quiet i could hear my thoughts. However, I would luv to hear yours, too.
