He fought with all his might holding off his enemies, putting his all into saving his life. However, the darkness amassed around him and grabbed his limbs, trying to possess him. As a last ditch effort, he raised his wand and let off a surrender charm: he succumbed to the dark that entangled him.
This is a sequel image to one of my favorite images I've created: The Testing. Harry Potter is always such an amazing inspiration for magical photos. As well as a sequel, this is a collaboration with my good friend Cameron Bushong, who is awfully talented as he is awesome, so go check out his stream!

Petra (Arabic: البتراء, Al-Batrāʾ; Ancient Greek: Πέτρα), originally known as Raqmu (Nabataean Arabic: الرقيم), is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Petra lies on the slope of Jabal Al-Madbah in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah valley that run from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. Established possibly as early as the 4th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataean Kingdom. The Nabataeans were nomadic Arabs who invested in Petra's proximity to the trade routes by establishing it as a major regional trading hub.
The trading business gained the Nabataeans considerable revenue, and Petra became the focus of their wealth. The earliest recorded historical reference to the city was when an envious Greek dynasty attempted to ransack the city in 312 BC. The Nabataeans were, unlike their enemies, accustomed to living in the barren deserts, and were able to repel attacks by utilizing the area's mountainous terrain. They were particularly skillful in harvesting rainwater, agriculture and stone carving. The Kingdom's capital continued to flourish until the 1st century AD when its famous Al-Khazneh facade was constructed, and its population peaked at an estimated 20,000 inhabitants.
Encroaching troops of the Roman Empire in 106 AD forced the Nabataeans to surrender. The Romans annexed and renamed the Kingdom to Arabia Petraea. Petra's importance declined as sea trade routes emerged, and after a 363 earthquake destroyed many structures. The Byzantine Era witnessed the construction of several Christian churches. By 700, the city became an abandoned place where only a handful of nomads grazed goats. It remained an unknown place until it was rediscovered by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812, sparking renewed interest in the city.
The city is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved. It is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage".

Standing at 27 feet tall, the Knife Angel statue is certainly imposing. It is made from 100,000 knives confiscated by 43 UK police forces, and serves as a reminder about the rising problems of knife crime. Each knife also carries a message from the loved ones of knife crime victims.

The Venetian Walls of Heraklion extend to a length of about 4,5 km and form a triangle protecting the "Old Heraklion" of the 16th century.
During the last years of Venetian rule Crete lived under the threat of Turkish invasion. In 1645 began the fifth Veneto-Turkish war. A Turkish army landed in west Crete in that year, and after many hard battles the Turks became lords of the whole island excluding Candia (modern Heraklion) and few isolated strongholds like Gramvousa.
The siege of Heraklion was the most dramatic episode in the strife-ridden history of the island, lasting 21 years (1648-1669, the second longest siege in history).
In August 1669 General Sea Captain Francesco Morosini, commander of the Venetian forces was left with only 3,600 fit men and scant supplies to defend the fortress. After securing safe passage for the remainder of his army he surrendered to Grand Vizier Ahmed Köprülü on 27 September 1669. As part of the negotiations, all Christians were allowed to leave the city with whatever they could carry with them.
The siege cost the lives of 117.000 Turks and nearly 30.000 Venetians and Greeks.

Surrender yourself. Let go of control, and allow the Universe to take the natural course. Open a new world of possibilities...
I was at Joshua Tree National Park, taking photos of this Juniper Tree, but I was mostly facing the other direction, toward the sunrise when I looked behind me and saw these amazing Lenticular Clouds on the horizon.
I think this is the first and only time I have witnessed Lenticulars, so I was pretty excited. I quickly moved around the tree and found this composition and was able to get this shot while the soft morning light was still available.
The title "Never Surrender" seems appropriate, because this Juniper tree is growing in the most harsh desert conditions, surrounded by nothing but rocks and sand, and has somehow managed to cling to life in the gap between these two large boulders.
This Blue Dasher Dragonfly blends perfect with her environment~
The shadows cast by the sun light created a magical silhouette against the lily pads...

Masada is the name for a site of ancient palaces and fortifications in the South District of Israel on top of an isolated rock plateau, or large mesa, on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. After the First Jewish-Roman War (also known as the Great Jewish Revolt) a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire led to the mass suicide of Jewish rebels, who preferred death to surrender.

This was actually quite an impromptu shot to take. I had just finished taking some light-trail photographs on a country road near Loch Tarsan and had headed to Jubilee Point on Loch Eck to see if it was suitable for another photoshoot I planned to take later that weekend ("Death Of Childhood Dreams"). It was ... but before heading home the idea for this shot popped into my head :)
