Secretary Rita Landgraf joined five other speakers Jan. 30 at the Aging in Place Community Forum at Cape Henlopen High School. "With our fast-growing senior population, especially in Sussex County, it is critical that the state support individuals who want to remain in their communities and age safely, with dignity and respect, in their homes," Landgraf said. More than 250 people attended the event, which also featured speakers from Beebe Healthcare, St. Francis Healthcare’s LIFE Program, the Greater Lewes Community Village Program, Griswold Home Care, and Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association. The forum was moderated by Jeffrey Fried, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare.
I left that house at 2:30 am to hit Eagle Lake before sunrise. I had been planning all week and couldn't wait to get up that early and get on the road. Shots from Eagle Lake to come.
With 3 kids and a full time job I don't get that many opportunities to get out there, so I take them when I get them. On this occasion I had been checking the weather report and Saturday looked like it would have the greatest chance of clouds. As you can tell from this shot, they never really materialized.
It is days like this that you just enjoy being out and take advantage of opportunities to scout out new locations. This location I really like and am looking forward to coming back to later when I get a few clouds and another opportunity to make this more interesting.
The little wisp of a cloud to the left was barely on the horizon and I waited and waited (2hrs) in the snow hoping that it would do anything to bring just a bit of color to the water. This is as good as it ever got.
Can anyone guess where this was taken? One of the nicest places to visit in the United States of America.

An interactive exhibition for children based on an American Children’s Museum model will open its doors in Ceske Budejovice on October 28, 2011. The exhibition will be divided into four themes – the manmade environment and everyday life; nature and technology; art and culture; and the past and present. The project aims to inspire young children to learn more about fascinating aspects of the world we live in, a unique exhibit will present the history and culture of New York City. There is a special program for children every Saturday.

Apparently a school of pharmacy has a medicinal herb display bed and are not sure how to keep the plants alive.
The reason for the children supporting the hospice was in memory of Antonia (Toni) Smith who passed away at Sobell back in March.
Toni received care at the hospice from December through to March and her husband Shaun, and daughter, Holly wanted to say thank you for the support she received whilst under our care.
The children from Holly's school (George Barber, Joshua Weeds, Lucas Munday, Ava Weeds, Olivia Munday, and of course Holly herself) decided to repay the kindness by raising money through a range of funfraisers which included a mix of stalls at school, coffee mornings, stands outside their own houses, as well as a dip into Shaun's wallet (with his permission).
They planned and organised the fundraisers themselves and we think they've done a brilliant job.
Thanks to everyone involved and to all who supported their efforts.
