Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen provide support to a COVID-19 community vaccination clinic hosted by Prince William County Health District April 1, 2021, at the First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries, Virginia. During the clinic, VNG personnel helped administer vaccines and provided administrative and traffic management support. The VNG reconfigured the task force conducting COVID-19 testing and mask fit training to create mobile vaccination teams to provide additional capacity for the statewide vaccination program. The teams consist of Army and Air National Guard medics trained and certified by the Virginia Department of Health to administer the vaccines. Note: This does not represent an exhaustive list of all relevant programs in these areas. In addition, while the figure includes a few of the related tax expenditures in the areas of income support, child welfare, and child care, it is not an exhaustive list of tax expenditures in these areas or of those related to other supports, such as health and housing. While TANF and the Social Services Block Grant funds may be spent in categories in which they appear, their funds may also be used to meet a variety of needs.

usually whenever I go to an art fair I look for big vases to store big spindles and support spindles. The vase in the back was a gift from my dad in-law.

lately my love of support spindle has grown exponentially, so they kind of need their own home. Due to summer graduate school I couldn't attend a lot of art fair this summer. Last Monday, hubby and I went to Dakota county fair to visit my submission to the fair. I won 2 blue ribbons under handspun category for both handspun yarn and handspun shawl. We also tried a homemade root beer thus the can from Bayou Billy. The vendor is there every year this is the first year we try it. We loved the taste. Not too sweet as some commercially made root beer.

So now the can is being used as a home for the support spindles. I put rice inside to help keep the support spindles stand.

American Airlines Sky Ball XVII, in Support of the Airpower Foundation was a great success! We held 3 days of celebrations, tributes, educational opportunities for students, all culminating with the largest and most impactful black tie military support gala in the country! The next morning 3,000 students enjoyed learning about all the aircraft at the hangar along with the DFW Aviation Expo. Medal of Honor Recipients, along with special guests, visited local area schools as well. Friday evening we had a great turn out for our Salute to the Heroes Concert featuring Stoney LaRue with Austin Allsup. Chef Robert Irvine cooked up a fantastic meal along with his team for all our guests to enjoy. Saturday we were honored to host a special luncheon with the American Fallen Soldiers Project to present the portrait of Army SGT William Moody to his family. Saturday evening culminated with the Sky Ball XVII Black Tie Gala celebrating the Home of the Brave! Martina McBride closed the evening with a wonderful concert! Rally & march in support of Referendum 71, in Seattle.

If passed, Referendum 71 will uphold Washington state's "everything but marriage" domestic partnership law, which was passed by the state Senate in March, passed by the state House in April, and signed into law by Governer Gregoire in May of 2009.

It shouldn't even be on the ballot. Why is it OK to put people's civil rights up for a vote? But it is on the ballot, so if you live in Washington state, please vote to approve it.

Update, November '09: Referendum 71 was approved by the voters! Thank you, Washington state!

Underneath the Bridgewater Hall (home of Manchester's Halle Orchestra), are these insulating supports providing insulation from the many trams that run outside, and also from earthquakes. Engineers: Ove Arup & Ptnrs

From the Hall's website:

"One of the most fascinating aspects of the Hall’s construction is that the entire structure floats free of the ground on almost three hundred, earthquake-proof isolation bearings or giant springs, so there is no rigid connection between the 22,500 ton building and its foundations. This ensures the Hall’s carefully designed acoustic is protected from all outside noise and vibration."

Support activities for the construction of roads and highways. Road under construction.

With support from the U.S. Government's cornerstone global food security initiative, Feed the Future , and in partnership with governments, civil society, development partners, and the private sector, a country-led approach to development is helping to unlock the transformative potential in agriculture to sustainably address the challenge of global hunger. The United States hosted a side event at the Financing for Development Conference this week to highlight how proven approaches to food security and nutrition spurred by the African Union's Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP) are working across Africa and on other continents. Among the speakers were the Acting Administrator for USAID Alfonso Lendhart, the Deputy Commissioner of the African Union Erastus Mwencha, and an inspiring YALI fellow James Makini from “One Hen Campaign Project.”

24th march...2012

It was a really nice day here in Alabama yesterday (1/6/11) So me and my wife (Liz) went riding around roads in her old hood. We use to ride these roads all the time as teens but this is the first time in, Oh…15 years since I seen this bridge. Last time I was here it was washed out. gone. Its hard to imagine the water got that high but it did, or has. I don’t know the name of this creek, But I’m sure it has one.

I bet Ya’ll Thought I Just Photographed Old Houses and Cars.

Red Cross volunteers Esther Morell and Deborah Don deliver food and water to John Daidone in the Belmont Mobile Home Park in San Mateo County. Daidone has been evacuated from his home twice since New Year’s Eve, spending several nights in the Red Cross shelter set up at the San Mateo County Event Center, but he was taking advantage of a break in the weather to work on cleaning up damage flood waters caused to his home.

Residents of more than 80 mobile homes have had flood waters invade their park at least twice since New Year’s Eve, resulting in mountains of destroyed belongings, including many major appliances.

The Red Cross and its partners have been supporting the residents from the beginning with food, shelter and other essentials and will be there to help them on their way to recovery.
