The view from our holiday lodge at Lochinver in the north west of Scotland and the sunset we were treated to on our first night here.

We had a stunning day here in Cape Town yesterday... warm, no wind, and loads of interesting high-level clouds... with plenty of promise for a great sunset!

So Jenny and I took a drive out to Kogelbaai for a romantic walk along the beach. Hand in hand we strolled along the mostly deserted beach... chatting about all the latest stuff happening in our lives... all the while looking out for potential compositions for sunset. When I spotted this large but shallow dune-pool... with this rock in the middle of it... I just knew that I'd found my comp.

This shot was captured mere seconds before sunset... my absolute favourite time of the day.

The 71st Sunset of the year was a nice one, after a day of record temperatures of just over 18 degrees C. Spring may have made her first real appearance!
