Today's photo was taken from a bridge spanning the Stuart River, a short distance downstream from Gordonbrok Dam. It is a typical Kingaroy winter scene with winter colours across the grass, a cold overcast sky and the river wending its way through the countryside.

Stuart Highway North, north of the Tropic of Capricorn marker. There is something spiritual in flames and smoke when something sad has happened beside the road.

I had found the poor road-killed orange Wedge-tailed Eagle youngster and was gathering up feathers from around the road when the Bush-fire Brigade truck pulled up beside me and said there was going to be a lot of smoke. I think I said I didn't mind. It was a very sad time.and it suited my mood somehow.

Stuart needs to be in physical contact with me. All the time. He is also trying to get to a position where Aaron can't reach him.

Stuart Ringholt, Anger Workshops, 2008/2012.

dOCUMENTA (13), Kassel.

It's as unrelentingly bleak as it looks. Another 'new town', designed by someone who doesn't have a clue how communities develop or how real people live.

Great film, great actor. I bet Steve would support free-range too.
