Everyone, please meet Stuart.
I was shopping at Walmart when I spotted Stuart and his hat. I was wearing a similar hat with the same Air Force logo. Waited until Stuart was done checking out before approaching him. I complimented him on his hat and introduced myself. When I asked him about participating in the project he was happy to and the clerk told me he was a real "ham".
Stuart is retired Air Force serving between 1956 and 1976 working with computers. He comes from an Air Force family, his older brother was a jet mechanic working on F100s and his younger brother did instrument repairs on B-52s. Stuart was a real pleasure to talk to and I hope to see him around and maybe get to chat a little more. "But not at work" he added refering to my job in the operating room.
Thank you Stuart for your service to our country!
And thank you for participating in my 100 strangers project. You can learn more about the project, view other photos and photos by other photographers at: www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
This is Stuart..Took this a while ago, just found a batch of lost negs from St Ives! Some serious enlarging times coming up! Anyway...I liked his pipe, the stains on the image are where I have tried to make the effect of smoke in the darkroom... (Didn't really work that well in the end!)
Received some bad news yesterday....Got rejected form Brighton University! Their loss!
On the plus side....Got offers from Manchester Metropolitan, Newport and Southampton Solent. I am still waiting to hear about the Photography in Europe course at Nottingham Trent. Really loved my interview there so I hope I get in!
This picture is #18 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page

This mansion sits on the Isle of Bute, not far from Rothesay. We spent a pleasant day touring the house and grounds.
I was a former Dulwich resident, and teacher of art/computer graphics and digital artist. Until disablement forced semi-retirement. I did a lot watercolour/acrylics of Dulwich Which are mostly produced straight onto computer screen in photoshop.
