The Vif String Quartet is an Edmonton-based string ensemble that loves to make music together and share it with others. We take our name from the French word for bright, lively or vibrant – a term that captures our attitude and approach to music-making.
Members of the quartet perform regularly with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Alberta Baroque Ensemble and other ensembles, and have music degrees from the University of Alberta, Schulich School of Music at McGill University, and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.

Pi's favorite toys are as follows -
1. The plastic 'ball in a circle' toy my mother bought for her as a grandkitten gift. She hasn't quite figured out that the center is a scratching post, but she'll spend an hour at 3 am spinning that ball around.
2. The large blue bag I brought home from Ikea and left on the dining room floor, whereupon she immediately moved in.
3. A piece of twine tied to a cat wand - she ate the original string from the wand. Twine is the only string-like-substance she will not try and swallow, TF occasionally renews it when it becomes too frayed. Pi literally screams at us until we bust this thing out, then she chases it until she's panting.
Cats are weird.
