A great place to catch the sunrise on Mount Moran is near the trailhead for the String Lake Trail. On still mornings, you get a nice reflection of the mountain in the lake as the first rays of like strike it and Rockchuck Peak sloping down in the foreground.
Finnaly I am free from the boss out of hell..... I had a new job, but it was the worst job of my life. The boss thought that I was a puppet that could work such long days, that I've had a breakdown a few weeks ago. Now a I am free again and looking for a another job. A cool job, with nice people.
I am not someones puppet on a string.
Photography using a DSLR Camera portraying the string theory that we are all connected by strings of energy that transfer emotion and feeling between each and every person on Earth. These strings create an aura and atmosphere in a room as the emotion is being transferred between all the people so they all subconsciously feel the same thing.

Here it is, my finished string-quilt. I had so much fun designing and making it. At times it was a bit of a struggle physically since it is the largest quilt that I've ever made.
finished piecing the quilt back and basted the quilt this weekend, and only 2 weeks left to finish this, 2 pencil rolls, and hopefully a few pot holders... ahhhh!!

Another lightning picture from last week. I like the way the lightning ran behind the horizontal line of small dark clouds connecting them like popcorn strung together on a string. Shooting lightning is interesting because you never know what you're going to get. Very different from the typical landscape where everything is carefully composed.
Variations. Preparing for an upcoming Zentangle demonstration, playing with basic tangles (to show that basic does not have to be boring).
Finaly a good day to take some photo's of this finished string quilt! What a beautiful morning with some frost, hoping for many more to come this winter! I finished this quilt in the last week of 2011 and finished the binding this week. I am very happy with the fabric choice, for a long time I was't happy with the fact that I bought the Hope Valley, did'nt know what to do with it. Until I saw this quilt made out of it www.flickr.com/photos/39332868@N06/5897170598/in/set-7215... It was just perfect for it! Thanks so much Angela for the idea!
Workers busy preparing the kite thread. The kite string or the 'dorr' (pronounced as door), is made of crushed glass, glue, colours and egg applied on the thread to make it strong enough to hold the kite and cutting out the rival kites in the sky.
Here, in Amritsar, people are obssesed with flying kites in winters. Each Sunday of the winters witnesses spirits soaring high with shouts of "Ayi Bo!", which symbolizes triumph of victory after cutting the rival kite, penetrating the thick and foggy atmosphere. The kite flying season reaches its climax with the Festival of Lohri(celebrated on January 13 every year) when people from almost every household get onto their rooftops for flying kites with music playing high in the background. At night bonfires are arranged and people sing and dance around them as they celebrate the festival.
I love string quilts and was so excited this challenge was strings! I had a stack of fabrics sitting on my cut space from a bee block so I decided to stick with that color pallet and jumped right in. I cut 1.5" and 2" strips off of 15 different fabrics and went to town randomly sewing them together. I then made a layout that was a little different than the traditional string quilt. The quilt was then quilted with a checkered pattern, except the diamond which was just outlined. It is then bound with a fun grey stripe. It measured 52" x 52"

Late in the afternoon on my third day in the Tetons, the sun finally broke thru for a short time, and more of the mountains became visible. It would have also been nice if the wind died down for that perfect reflection. The day before, much of this part of the lake was covered by a very thin layer of ice.
