A candid photo of a local worker in Silves, Portugal.

I added a little atmosphere and intrigue to the photo. I love the little details. For instance, that the man is wearing a mask of Zorro Tee. It just adds to the cinematic feel.

Strider pongo version

Playing with macro and my extension tubes again. Went out in my backyard where there's a little stream and tried to get some close up shots of water striders. They don't stay still for you, so you kind of have to wait and shoot a lot. I did get a couple shots in focus but I liked this one best. I like how you can see the water tension on their legs. Again, it's pretty cool seeing this macro world close up so I'm definitely enjoying this little adventure into the world benieth us.

Common pond skater or common water strider, nymph | Kūdrinis čiuožikas, nimfa | Gerris lacustris (Linnaeus, 1758). Gerridae

This is one of those little insects you see zooming across the top of ponds like skimmed stones. In the UK we often call them Pond Skaters, but they're also called Water Striders. This is a Common Pond Skater (Gerris lacustris). It has sensitive hairs on its legs that locate prey that have got caught in the water surface tension. It then grabs them with those short front legs and sucks out the poor insect's juices with a tough beak it has tucked underneath its body.

It is armed with a pair of lightning guns and a powerful storm cannon, and is protected by thick armor. It is a imposing sight on the battlefield, and strikes fear into the hearts of its enemies.
