Haven't spent much time on striding at Freeway but Loren and I found this fun route today. The only restriction was two steps on the dirt and I tried to make the rest low impact.
This is one of the highlights of walking the Southern Uplands Way.
The approach to the summit of Benbrack is up a convex slope, so the arch suddenly materialises in front of you when you reach the summit.
It was a lovely place on a very warm evening with a slight breeze so it seemed perfect for some al fresco dining. Not haute cuisine but I cooked up some pasta in tomato sauce and then sat on the nearby stile eating my supper and taking in the arch and the surroundings. Some things you cannot buy!
Hadn't thought of this place in years then Netty posted a photo of it. Had a friend fall off this once in winter he slid a fair way before managing an ice arrest.

On April 24th members of Local 2141, as well as members of Alexandria’s 38th Suppression Recruit Class, joined co-worker Monique Jackson-Asante and her family and friends to participate in the MDA’s Stride and Ride event at George Mason University. Local 2141 partnered with GMU’s Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity to walk on behalf of Monique’s daughter Comfort who suffers from Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular disease that causes muscle fatigue and weakness.

A closer look reveals insects called water striders. They get their name from the tiny air-trapping hairs on their legs that allow them to skate on the surface of a body of water. Watch them skate and you'll see they use their middle legs to propel themselves, and their back legs to steer.
Strider was a imperial guard, but after a few years he realized that he could get much richer being a pirate instead of hunting them. No one knows his real name .
