I saw him walking with that determined stride and set myself up for the "decisive moment".... I was aiming for the framing, but also luckily caught that "Man jumping over a puddle " foot...

Yes, this looks great in B&W, but if I'm gonna to talk the colorful talk I better walk the colorful walk...

Again, love the butteriness of the CCD sensor....

Distant city: pandemic times

This is from a time when I took good photos (I think) but it was also one of the worst times, at the height of the pandemic, hundreds or thousands of people were dying every day, and I went out to take photos with two masks, alcohol, without touching anything, I walked for hours through the streets without drinking water, because I needed to record somehow what was happening.

Esta é de uma époda que fiz boas fotos (eu acho) mas também foi uma das piores épocas, no auge da pandemia, morriam centenas ou milhares de pessoas por dia, e eu saia para fotografar com duas máscaras, álcool, sem tocar em nada, andava horas pelas ruas sem sequer beber água, pois precisava registrar de alguma forma o que estava acontecendo.

Striding Edge awaits. Found this photo while tidying up my old catalogs. After recently getting back from a trip up Glen Coe back in 2008 I still had a urge to get back into the mountains. So I decided to go across to the Lakes to feed the habit. Here is a shot as I approached a wintery looking Striding Edge.

An Oystercatcher is seen rather purposefully striding out on the shore at Seahouses.

As with all insects, the water strider has three pairs of legs. The front legs are much shorter, and allow the strider to quickly grab prey on the surface. The middle legs act as paddles. The back legs are the longest and provide additional power, and also enable the strider to steer and “brake.”

The buoyancy and paddling legs allows striders to be fast. Very, very fast. The National Geographic article reports striders are capable of “speeds of a hundred body lengths per second. To match them, a 6-foot-tall person would have to swim at over 400 miles an hour.” from Cool Green Science.

Contemplo ruas, pessoas e pedras, entre ficções e esquecimentos, inspirado no poeta, talvez, percebo as sombras dos gestos de outros, a poesia do crepúsculo, um desassossego.

Looks like Hopper's taking long strides cuz she's got places to go but I think she's actually looking back at Cordelia & wants to get away.

I still haven't had the family meeting to let everyone know I love them all equally. I think Cordelia still thinks she's top dog around here. ;0)

This is the same spot/same framing as Solo Strider II (which made the Explore page!). After waiting for a moment to get the lone pedestrian, suddenly I had two decent opportunities.
