Any resemblance to real persons, living or pixelated, is purely coincidental. Seriously, if you see yourself in this, it’s probably just your imagination — or you’re starring in a simulation. Either way, we didn’t mean it.
An old fishing boat lies stranded awaiting the incoming tide of the Langebaan lagoon at Churchhaven in the West Coast national park. The tide difference is huge and at high tide the boat floats in knee deep water!
A frightening experience when I was stranded in this remote and unfamiliar island during a heavy storm.

Built by Clyde Engineering in 1965, Genese & Wyoming Australia's (GWA) #1203 was one of two former West Australian Government Railways/Westrail A class units that found their way to South Australia back in the early 2000s.
Both were allocated to the narrow gauge (3'6") Port Lincoln Division where they hauled grain trains until the network was closed in mid-2019. As of late 2020 the two units, 1204 can be seen in the background, remain at the Port Lincoln workshops, effectively isolated and awaiting a decision on their fate.
Ownership of G&W's Australian operations changed at the end of 2019 and the company is now known as One Rail Australia.

... on a sandbank in the Exe Estuary, from Starcross, Exeter, Devon, England. Nearly last light on a wonderful, calm evening, looking NNE up the estuary with the sunset to the west reflected in the clouds to the north and east.
I took this photo last fall when I went up to Bishop, CA and met up with JoJo(Imagesofdreams) and RhondaMartinlensart to shoot some fall colors. This was above 7000ft from what I can remember- I couldn't get over how blue the sky is up there!!!
The thing I was not prepared for was the scary visual of the DROUGHT in California. This is South Lake near Bishop,CA. Normally this lake is full of water at this spot and with happy boaters or fishermen. It felt weird to be in these gorgeous mountains surrounded by beauty and then wham- the rawness of this sight brings you into a different reality.
Last night around midnight, I especially woke up to listen to and smell the rain- a rare event in Southern California. We live in our cities with manicured green lawns, we let the faucet run when we brush our teeth. We take 2 showers a day if we need to... and the water continues to flow....piped to us from hundreds, maybe over a thousand miles away... Maybe we should treat water as the precious resource it is....
Food for thought! :)
