Abandoned country store, once owned and operated by members of the Caldwell Family, stands dilapidated and clad in stone at the corner of Meadow Fork Road and North Carolina State Highway 209 between Spring Creek and Hot Springs at a small rural hamlet known as Bluff. The building’s appearance suggests it was operating as a business up until quite recently, the interior suggests it was renovated sometime as recently as the 1970s or 1980s.

This large display banner is over 3 metres tall, providing a commanding store presence for Equipco's branding. It was important to place the Equipco logo and the main heading and image at the top so that it can be seen across the store.

One of the older Holiday Stationstore locations. It's not apparent from this photo but the building is actually triangle shaped. This location was built in 1983 as a part of the neighboring Holiday Plus store. It was separated from that property in 1999 as part of the sale to a property management firm.

Science fiction still holds a big chunk of my heart all these years after reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. Every time I go to Barnes and Noble I spend most of my time checking out the science fiction section. I didn't purchase anything today, but only because I have a book on hold at the library. Normally, I would leave the store much poorer than I entered it!
