Jason took the kids out to visit Erik & Amanda and Grandma Bristow too while I stayed home to edit photos and make final preparations for the fall semester.
Staying home alone on a Friday,
flat on the floor looking back
on old love or lack thereof.
After all the crushes are faded
and all my wishful thinking was wrong,

I was on the floor alright, and this is the song I was trying to play with Loreta (the guitar) that night. The fan looks stupid being in the shot, but it was hot! If I placed the fan any farther, I'd be sweating like I'm in a sauna!

On October 24, 2011, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson’s party had what is dubbed as the Vision Vancouver Time Raiser, a free event for members of the party to gather together at the Waldorf Hotel where a silent auction was held. Volunteers bid their time with Vision Vancouver for items donated by the Vancouver’s art and culture community such as dance lessons, paintings, screen-printing workshop etc.

...that I could just stay home all day and knit on my sweater.
Alas, today is a long day, too. Tutoring from 9am-11am, then a department talk, then meeting with students, then trying to wrap up my section of a draft for a journal paper, then possibly coming home for dinner, then more grant-writing class, til at least 9pm. Ooof.
Concert went alright yesterday. Bus broke down on the way back, which meant getting back even later than we were supposed to, but I made a new friend in my section, which made it a lot better. And I got to listen to a super-sweet voicemail from my brother, who always makes me feel better. Still, I am absurdly tired. And I just wanna knit.
So my Queen stayed home from work today due to a debilitating headache that carried over from yesterday. I came home and saw her snug as a bug on the couch with her cute little arm/hand warmers on and decided to snap a pic. Problem was I had the camera set for the studio lights so it took me a couple of tries to get the camera settings correct. And there's nothing worse than being cold, tired, and miserable with a headache and having some goober taking pictures of you with the on camera flash firing! :-D
