Not a bad reason to stay home today.

I stayed home with Ava today and I took a couple shots of her while she was playing. I like how this one turned out. She was funny this morning. After she woke up, we sat down in her chair so she could drink her milk. She looked up at me with a big smile on her face and said "Hi mama". Oh well, she'll get "dada" figured out one of these days. It's the thought that counts.

It was a cloudy/snowy day today, so the light coming in the window behind her was very soft. I used a tiny bit of the camera's pop-up flash for fill.

Stayed home again today and yes, we got birds at our feeder! The squirrels did not show up, perhaps because they saw their embarrassing Flickr pictures. However, I am embarrassed to say that I don't know what birds they are. They looked like a couple to me.

I looked it up and I think they are a purple finch couple. Am I right?

They are a house finch couple. Thank you Laura the bird veteran for the id!

Have a great weekend everyone!

stayed home most of the day with my cold- tom yum soup hit the spot

My daughter was sick today - this picture is taken on her 2nd icecream... :)

...and also I was getting sick just looking at the wedding photos I took last summer...there is nothing about the weather today that reminds me about the summer.

I´ve hardly touched my camera for months but I´m going to change that now - hopefully ;)

On a solo trip to Santa Fe in January of 1987, while my wife stayed home to await the impending arrival of our first grandchild, I checked into my $28 motel room (on Cerrillos road a block from Paseo de Peralta, believe it or not),

After some ambling around my beloved town for a while, I sat down at my "sewing machine style" Compaq, and began to speculate on the unique appearance of the City Different.

In my rambling essay I surmised that the early settlers in this area, inwardly knowing they were intruders (in spite of their arrogant and superior "public face"), would huddle together for warmth and protection. I doubt that the aesthetic quality of what they were doing crossed their minds.

If you don't know it, I will tell you that there's no reason for today's Santa Fe to have the appearance it has..Much of the architecture of the last century and before followed contemporary styles of their time.

However, the first time I saw Santa Fe (beyond the birth dates of most of you), I drove into town in my 1960 VW in a snowstorm. I could not see for more than about 200 yards in any direction, and had no idea of the extreme beauty of the surrounding mountains or the throatlumping view across to the Jemez.

I fell in love with the 200 yard radius that surrounded me as I drove around the same part of town several times. I was overwhelmed by the designer-inspired unity of the place. A world of intimate spaces bonded together by a common material, mud.

Somehow, although I once lived in Santa Fe for about three years, and have visited in all seasons of the year, and seen my little town sprawl well beyond practical reason, I still like to imagine that the real Santa Fe is a cozy winter town that can take your breath away whether you can see it or not.

Santa Fe is a symphony of texture which can be viewed from close-up or far away with equal excitement.

I stayed home because my stomach & arm were hurting & I needed to begin packing. I did find time to go workout with Billy. I called it a PT session.

Stayed home with the girls today. Saw this just as it is in the morning light coming thru aryannah's bedroom window. The loose thread makes her eye loook like the ballerina princess is crying. Funny how things hit you when you have 3 daughters... The steven curtis chapman song, cinderella, came to my mind...dan

Came into NYC last night and stayed home today while Erin went to work. I had a busy day setting up her new computer (seen here putting more ram in). It's nice to see that smile on her face. I'm sure that smile will double when her replacement 2nd monitor comes in (the second one came in with a cracked screen. the horror!!!).

Stay home and if you have to go out please wear a mask to help prevent from getting this virus. Being a survivor of COVID this virus is nasty and I don't want to see anymore deaths.

Stayed home again & went to the doctor--apparently have some sort of flu. A pretty wretched day.

Stayed home to sleep in, relax, and work on photos. Got to watch the Giants win the first game against Detroit. To top it off, had some real bomb pizza from Mountain Mikes. Today was great.
