Ig account:

The sky was stormy looking and I could see a thunder storm on the radar west of the Tallgrass Prairie. The sky was pretty much solid gray, so I almost stayed home. I'm glad I went. The light was glorious and the buffalo were all active with many bulls roaming.

Staying Home Covid-19 is here and we all have to stay at home to halt the spread of the virus. We photographers are reduced to taking pictures in the house, so here are a few things of interest.

Cat's Eyes Pussy cat Bracken, who will be ten years old in a few days, is quite used to my being at home all day. It means that she can meow for food in that desperate, oh so appealing manner in those moments when she's not asleep. You can tell she's miffed by the clicking camera and popping flash.

I set my phone amongst this chaotic pile of my interests, and when I saw the reflection of the outside world I was reminded of Flickr's Friday theme for the week: I Stay Home. This is a pretty good encapsulation of my world and experience at this time; a pile of music and books, a life of screens, and the outside world almost a surreal reflection of what we knew so recently, so near but now just a little out of reach.

Tossed in some little "Easter egg" items for photographers:

• Cartier-Bresson's The_Mind's_Eye in the background.

• A Contax 1.7/50 sitting atop the stack of CDs and headphones.

• A Weston Master III meter below the Apple logo.

• A Voigtlander Kontur viewfinder, which is an interesting and oddball piece, to the left of the meter.

Shot this as a B&W jpeg with the X1 then gave it a light edit in Capture One. That's a funny way to do it, since I'm generally a raw shooter and I have C1 primarily as an editor for my Fuji RAFs, but I like the jpegs this camera creates, and I'm impressed by what a great jpeg editor C1 is, so I'm enjoying this quick and simple method. I composed this with the help of the VIDOM, which makes it easier to align straight lines with the X1, but I of course at this close distance I had to double check the framing and alignment of the reflection.

staying home is getting boring!

Staying home when outside is cold, reading a good book, lying on a couch wrapped in a warm blankett, drinking a cup of hot tea..I love Autumn, it just makes me feel good.

For Flickr Friday Group. This weeks theme, "I Stay Home."

Staying home hasn't been an option. The "essential worker" designation has been applied to both of us.

My wife is an RN, and is making the most of a difficult situation. Her current position is in a "rehabilitation/nursing home," which is potentially one of those higher risk places to work. Fortunately, this care facility has so far escaped the fate of other similar establishments across the country where they have not been so blessed.

About 2 weeks prior to California Governor Gavin Newsom's "Stay- at-Home" directive, I became employed as a forklift driver at a cold storage warehouse. The warehouse keeps frozen a wide variety of produce from strawberries, to every part of a cow you can think of (and some I had never thought of). So as part of a team dedicated to keeping the nation fed, I'm too am "essential."

Other than the grocery shopping and going back and forth to work, we are staying home. Our three teenage children haven't been away from the house since March 11th.

stayed home sick today. it was really cold outside so as a last resort im uploading a film picture i took just before it snowed, sorry. blah.

#stayhome

Peanut stayed home on Halloween while his sisters went out Trick-or-Treating. He wanted to finish his report for school. The general topic was the Space Age, and Peanut chose to write about Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first person to go into outer space when he orbited the earth in 1961. As he did his homework, on the table Peanut had a blue space alien Halloween figure that he had been given as part of Blythe Swap as a sort of inspiration.

When his sisters came home, they brought into Peanut's room candies in the bags they had carried. The large bags were also a gift from their Blythe Swap partner.

Peanut was a bit tired but happy when he finished his homework and reached into the bag for a small piece of candy.

"A sweet end to a productive day," thought Peanut, relaxing at last.

Stayed home from work today to recuperate from 16 hour drive from hell yesterday, I managed to sneak a few pictures earlier this morning. I ordered a new lighting system that should be here in like two weeks that will allow me to continue pursuing photography at night (as most of the time I am too busy during the day).

A little more work with flash. My daughter did her moms makeup and we had another practice shoot.

Paste-up street art in San Francisco, California seen during the Covid19 pandemic of 2020. It depicts two women wearing masks and holding signs that say "Stay Safe" and "Stay Home". The women appear to be Marian B. Brown and Vivian A. Brown, two identical twin sisters that were local celebrities.
