Taking the exposure to 30 seconds smooths out the river that was flowing swiftly but mostly smooth on the surface, and really helps solidify the reflection of the trees and sky that was so pretty on the surface.

Yet another IL Beach State Park shot. No foreground subject, but I think the sky can hold it's on damn it! I so can't wait for this weekend, though I am not sure where I am going to go yet. I am hoping the storm clouds part enough in the moring to give dramatic effects again like this. Though I learned the reverse ND filter that I want to buy takes 4 to 6 weeks to ship! Youch!

In recent years they have really increased the landscaping around the fairgrounds. It is truely a beautiful and colorful place.

ACS-64 AMTK 614 looks devilish with the red marker lights lit as it comes through CP State. The Keystone train is shoving back into the Harrisburg Transportation Center after running out to the end of electrification to allow for a platform change. Laying on the ground at the edge of the right-of-way lays the new tracks to be installed at the interlocking. Amtrak is in the middle of a major infrastructure project in and around the station.

This is an 8 image panorama taken from the back of the Texas state capitol building in Austin.

Here are some facts about the Capitol building:

- The Capitol building in downtown Austin is the fourth building that has housed the Texas Capitol.

- At 308 ft high, the dome of the building stands seven feet higher than that of the nation's Capitol in Washington, D.C.

- The building was originally planned to be constructed entirely of limestone, but when it began to discolor (due to a high iron content) sunset red granite was used as an alternative. Now the building is mostly built of limestone but is mostly hidden behind the walls and on the foundations.

- The underground expansion (which you can see small peek from this vantage point) was completed in 1993 and added four stories of underground space which actually doubles the square footage of the original building (at 667,000 square feet); but since it's kept underground with minimal evidence most people don't realize it's there.

2015-present Chevrolet Tahoe belonging to the Nebraska State Patrol. This photo was taken at the Fleet Services located outside of Lincoln. Unsure on their stand of black cars and white ones, but this seems to be one of the first white units I have seen for newer cars.

For a break from the Smoky Mountain Images; here's an image from Matthiessen State Park from this last weekend. Abundant rainfall over the past week lead to the most water that I have ever seen at Matthiessen. The path that leads to the caves in the "wishing well" at the bottom of Cascade Falls usually requires a boot-deep splash across the dells. However the creek was bulging and required a waist deep creek crossing. It turned out to be a fun shoot, and it was great to get out for the first time since returning from the Smokies.

What a beautiful place to walk so many trails and capture so much beauty. Hawn State Park is one of my favorites as you can come back and take a different trail that leads you to more beauty.
