To ensure safety and stability of the boats competing in the Volvo Ocean Race, each is put through a series of tests and measurements to comply with the Volvo Open 70 Rule. The boats are evaluated both on and off the water in order to produce boats that are seaworthy and suitable for long distance racing, along with being fast and easily driven. Among those measurements is the pull down test. With a halyard attached to a point on the shore, the boat is wound down to a heel of approximately 50 degrees while the keel is canted fully to the same side. The automatic keel centering mechanism is then activated to make sure the system works and the boat returns upright.
A member of the Volvo Open 70 Measurement Group visited the PUMA Ocean Racing training base in Lanzarote, Spain, last week to put PUMA’s Mar Mostro through the pull down test. It’s ready to race.
Drought and extreme weather events in Central America have repercussions that affect stability and security on the U.S. border. Water insecurity exacerbates food security issues, which in turn has multiple trickle down effects. Livelihoods are affected, which contributes to migration within and across borders, and can in turn inflame conflict, weaken governance, and create footholds for drug cartels. Ensuring that Central American countries have solutions to food and water security challenges is paramount to continued stability and sustainability in the region.
This panel explores the challenges posed by the convergence of adverse weather events, conflicts over natural resources, rise in levels of violence, and the weakening of the rule of law for U.S. interests in the region and the security of U.S. borders.

My name is Kasey Kramer. I am young student getting started in the art of photography. For my final project for I chose to do it on the City of Cleveland. Everything about the City amazes me. All of the aspects of Cleveland give me a sense of pride and stability. I decided that I wanted Cleveland to be my theme because…
As I was growing up, I loved going to Downtown Cleveland. Everything was so tall, the people were so intriguing, and the pride that our city has makes me feel incredibly special to belong to it. My entire life, I have been familiar with the City. As I started to grow older and meet new people, they would ask where I live and I would answer saying Cleveland Ohio. The way they acted led me to believe that they knew nothing about Cleveland. They would say that Cleveland is a bad city. I would look at them as if they were from another planet. “Have you ever even been to Cleveland?” I would say and people said no but they have heard that it was a very bad city. Immediately, I would grow offended. How dare they talk about my home like that? Do they have no pride for where they come from?
For me, I truly love where I come from. I love the people, I love the sports, I love the intense amount of support our city has for our citizens. Anytime that I have the opportunity to go downtown I take it. I love going to Indians games, Cavs games, and of course, the Browns games. Cleveland Fans are the best. What other city has thrown thousands of beer bottles onto a field after a bad call? This may sound very strange to you, but to me it gives me chills. When one of our teams makes a miraculous play or we have won a game, or when there is a bad call and the crowd goes insane, I love the feeling. At that moment, every Cleveland fan is united. I love the way it makes me feel. I get a high from it.
They way I see things is that Cleveland is the reason; the reason to be proud, the reason to be such an intense fan, the reason to have undying love for your city. Of course, something that is always on someone’s mind when Cleveland is brought up is Lebron James. Even though some people were so hurt the way he betrayed our city, I saw pride, hope, and unity through the reactions of Cleveland fans. Through his “decision”, all of the Cavalier fans were brought together. We saw that as a City we are better than him and his power hungry behavior. The close bond that we have all formed through his leaving has been a source of power for our city. It has fueled us to be better. To the people who say we are nothing without Lebron, this project is for you. I want you to see how wonderful our city is; how great it is and the beauty our city beholds. Cleveland is the reason...
My pictures are taken of Buildings, lights, traffic, Stadiums, and Trailers. Everything that I think we have to be proud of I incorporated into my project. I think that the elements of my photos show why we should love Cleveland. I think they show how great our city is. My photos are taken through my eyes and what I see when I Think about Cleveland. I love the night life and the beautiful scenarios our city has when the sun ahs gone down. Most of my pictures are taken at night because I love the lights and the fascination attached to the minds and thoughts of people. To me, Cleveland is unforgettable.

Title: Appeal to All the People of the World for Prayer to End Conflicts to Bring Peace and Love to All in Ethiopia and the Rest of Africa
By Prof. Ephraim Isaac
I: Introduction
A gentle and graceful call for all peace-loving humans to do at least a two-minute prayer of love, peace, and kindness for the millions of the suffering peoples of Ethiopia that has been going on sadly without end. The prayer will take place on Saturday June 19, 2021, from 10am-12am EST (New York Time) at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York. We shall pray for the cessation of all hostilities, mutual forgiveness, peace and love to all in Ethiopia including the rest of Africa and the rest of the world. Humanity as one community is what the world should value, not war, killings and endless conflicts.
The prayer is to stop the on-going killings in Ethiopia and it will take place in the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, New York physically but it will be held virtually globally calling all of you to join and pray to save all the people.
II: Ethiopia Deserves Peace, Stability and Unity
This current on-going killing must never take place in the Ethiopia that has given spiritual strength to all humanity. Ethiopia is an ancient African country and one of the first in the world to accept Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in their early days.
