The Illinois Springfield campus has many beautiful places to relax, many quiet spaces to study and many exciting areas to connect with friends and check out the sights and sounds of UIS.
The picture shows Springfield native Bobby Clark (1888-1960), a man who was a minstrel, comedian, vaudevillian, and performer on stage, film, television, and circus. Best known for his painted on eyeglasses, Clark teamed up with his local friend, Paul McCullough and the two made a number of short comedy films for FOX and RKO in the late 1920s and 1930s. The two performed together as Clark & McCullough until McCullough’s suicide in 1936. This comedy team is largely lost to history, having never gained the popularity to match the Marx Brothers or Abbott & Costello, partly due to the racy nature of some of their material. Their films are rare and the Historical Society doesn't even have anything on their aside from some photocopies of broadsides, but thanks to YouTube, some of their work can be seen by today’s generation!
i think this is the first time i've ever seen a tractor on an album sleeve. i approve. he's from Iowa apparently, a weird mix of alt.country and 80s pop. niche.

The entire Summit staff got an orientation tour of Springfield's Discovery Center where the upper school division will be moving to conduct classes for the upcoming school year.

The new Simpsons ride doesn't open 'til later this year, but there are bits of Springfield appearing already at Universal Studios Hollywood...
Public Square was platted in 1823, and it remains the heart of the City of Springfield. The Old State Capitol, along with the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices and numerous other historic buildings surround the square.

The Springfield Armory was established in 1777, at the request of George Washington and Henry Knox, to build weapons for the United States military. Another armory was established in Harper's Ferry Virginia. Harper's Ferry Armory was destroyed in the Civil War and was never rebuild. The Springfield Armory was the major source of American weapons until it was closed in 1968.
Most of the former Armory is now occupied by Springfield Technical Community College, but this building houses a museum. run by the National Park Service, and has one of the finest displays of military small arms in the country.
Three more vehicles parked at Springfield Cafe on the A13. In the forground is MOW 388G and farthest away an unidentified Leicester PD3, both belonging to Castle Point Bus Co. In the middle is 10 ATO, which did not, and I think went for scrap soon after.
