This rapidly changing albeit typical Oregon spring sky was a very catchy backdrop against the bright and colorful tulips at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm last Sunday evening. This photo wash't shot long after we got pretty wet from some passing rain. It;'s getting late, I hope everyone in the Portland area has had a chance to see this sea of tulips for themselves. It's definitely worth the annual visit.

Back to the place that still feels like home to me, Forres in Morayshire in Northern Scotland. For some reflections on Spring and daffodils and light... as here in NZ we enter grey wet Winter and my ability to capture any sunsets becomes few and far between.

Finally spring has arrived in Raleigh, North Carolina and flowers are blooming all over. These three flowers bloomed in my yard within the past week. The tulip just opened today. With the crazy cold weather we've had here, it was the only tulip out of a dozen or so that bloomed.
In fact two different poppies, I think, on the riverside walk opposite Victoria Park. From nothing just a couple of weeks back, these Poppies grow to at least three feet, and are a curious mixture of strength, in the new flower buds, and fragility in the papery petals.
The wild flowers are out already, as soon as it warms up they spring out of the earth before the larger plants steal all the sunlight.
What a beautiful spring evening. The floor of the forst is well alife right know while the trees are still mostly leafless so I could discover some new perspectives this evening.
