June 4, 2020 - Me Restringing all four of my Violin Strings at Home tonight, and lubriating the Peg! Time for some Spring Cleaning and Spring Restringing!
Our refrigerator was close to capacity right before we emptied out all the stuff we didn't actually use. We ended up with a near empty fridge after.
What did we discover? Among the refuse a two-year old bottle of orange juice and a two-month old wilted head of lettuce. By the end we had filled three garbage bags of junk.
Early vacuum cleaner made and patented by A. S. Isles & Co., Birmingham, in the 1890s. 'Daisy' was a registered trademark, part of which was an image of the eponymous flower.
The machine has a wooden body on four iron wheels with spokes, attached to the cleaner are four handles and an iron drive-wheel with a wooden handle. Inside are bellows, a dust box and an inlet for its hose.
This is a carpet cleaner for a wealthy household. It took two people to operate it; one turning the wheel to produce a vacuum from the bellows and another to direct the hose nozzle.

One from the Archives, taken at summerfest. Part of my early Spring Clean of my files, and it certainly feels, and looks like Spring. It must have got close to 70F today. My roses are covered in fresh leaves, daffodils and tulips are a long way out of the ground. However, it is still officially winter, so the title is a bit inaccurate, unless anyone can make a connection to Autumn?

Spring Cleaning Favorite Finds
I had all my camera stuff shoved into this shelf, and we're having guests come so I had to clean it up. How's it look? :-) Don't worry they do get used. Not all with the same frequency but I like choices. Diversity is good :-)

~Story People
nothing much going on with me lately. it's spring break, but there's nothing to do except clean :( people are coming up from Texas and Georgia to see my dad, and my mom's going on a cleaning spree. how fun. but at least that gives me time to take pictures!
ugh, this weekend i'm doing my silver award for girl scouts (and yes, i'm still a girl scout.) thankfully, as soon as i'm done with this i can start on my gold award and be done with it!
I'm trying to find it.
I'm all or nothing and different each day.
I'm trying to find the fine line that gives me time for the simple pleasures that I love and the work that needs to be done.
I can't keep saying "it's my time" because if I do that we will be swallowed up by dust.
My vintage apartment has built in cabinets and drawers. A shelf under the cabinet holds my l to r, my cutting boards, a blender, my grandma's cookie har, a bamboo container which holds reuseable chopsticks, vintage tins which hold my flour and sugar, little bowls which hold scallions and garlic, handy to the stove, some platters and pretty serving ware, a box of raisins, and some poorly placed vinyl placemats. I keep my pot lids hanging on a rack to the side of the oven, and potholders on a hook to the left hand side.
I decided that it was time to start some much needed long overdue spring cleaning...from a couple of springs ago actually...and it was the perfect weekend for it because it was cloudy and cold...in the 40's. Romeo was there at every turn to keep me going as I tackled mountains of stuff and unearthed all kinds of treasures, sticking his nose in for further inspection, hoping that something might get tossed in his direction for demolition or for an opportunity to snatch something and run. I either had to get rid of stuff or find creative ways to store it, and being the pack rat that I am, you can guess which one I opted for! So, no, puppy, I'm not giving you away...these containers are for keeping things, and you're a keeper!
It’s finally springtime, and you know what that means… Spring cleaning! Yeah, I know, most of us dread this, but it is a necessary evil. Thankfully, there are some main jobs to focus on. Check out my list below to see how to prepare your home best for the new season:

...but it sure shows this crochet off. And to make this clear - I did NOT crochet any of this. Thrifted :-)
During our spring break, we did a big apartment cleaning. We took everything out of the refrigerator and freezer, cleaned it inside and out, and then put everything back. I'm happiest when everything is organized!
Design and illustration works I did during my college days and kept for a decade long. Today I had made up my mind. Goodbye! I cannot afford to keep rubbish.
And no, I do not have them in soft copies :D
