Tis the season for spring cleaning. I like to get it finished before it's time to work in the garden, that means a little before spring around here. Time to wash the curtains, clean the light fixtures, clean out dressers & closets and move all the furniture and scrub the floors.
The 14yd³ bin has been in my driveway since last Monday (Day 1) and will be hauled out early tomorrow morning. The bin was ostensibly there to receive all the construction and demolition debris (old cabinets, flooring etc.) but there was plenty of space for some spring cleaning. The house feels a little lighter now...
(Incidentally, this is the easiest way I can think of to throw out a broken garbage can.)
spring cleaning of my bedroom means taking things off the walls to put new ones up. here is a shelf i am working on using found birch bark, found whale bones, and various other old treasures.

a very strange day today. i have to make to make a difficult choice. i teach taekwondo (you probably haven't realized it through my photos but hey now you know) and a rival school of my master just offered me a better deal and now i have a very difficult choice to make: on one hand i need the money and on the other i don't want to leave my friends and my master... decisions decisions

hrygth: Nice! How big is your yurt? Ours is 16ft and it always rains in Ireland, so alas, no impractical shoes for this farmgirl :/
francescayoubetcha: @hrygth Mine is 25' and being in Texas means that it rarely rains, but when it rains it POURS. 3" in 24 hours. I also own 4 pairs of wellies!

hrygth: Thanks! I only moved here 2 years ago- originally a california kid... Where my shoe collection was more diverse. Married myself an irish farmer and now its all about the wellies. :)
Getting as much yard work in as I can today. The winter-like weather is rolling in this weekend. Time to bundle up and spend some time indoors.
It's springcleaning over here! Going through old shots and I love this shot! I love this girl too! She looks good in everything and nothing. The shots of this session however looked pretty trashy. For me, this one is totally okay because it clearly is too much for her!
June 4, 2020 - Me Restringing all four of my Violin Strings at Home tonight, and penciling in the Nut Groove! Time for some Spring Cleaning and Spring Restringing!
Step two is complete.
We put the hutch on craig's list and within 8 hours, it was gone. Thankfully, a very eager pregnant mama wanted it and we were glad to help her load it.
We set up the expedit in little time and now have a great wall for some art. I bought this and it's going up as soon as it arrives: tinyurl.com/c2nbeo I also plan to sew a sewing machine cover so it's protected and adds a bit of color.
I'm really happy with how big everything looks.
...is actually a repeated pattern as it takes place much more often than just this lovely season.
Living with white requires some attention - not having pets and children at the moment helps - and of course frequent cleaning procedures.
The covers of these fairly old Ikea sofas have survived a few dosins of washes, as they are being washed almost every second month!
Here, as being put on fresh, no previous ironing required ( chosing the "light ironing" programm in the washing mashine helps a bit though)

"Where should I put my tubs?"
We're not exactly cleaning, but we are trying to clear out our current garage so we decided to rent a storage unit over near our new place until we can make some time to sort through all our boxed stuff.
Oh, by the way, we bought a house and we are moving! Sorry I've been a bit absent here. We closed on Thursday and we have lots to do to get moved, but hopefully soon I'll have more time for dollies and photography!
Eek...I hope I made the deadline! I was so busy typing my description I didn't realize how close it was!
We spent most of Saturday doing a major spring cleaning of our house. Some of the evidence is seen in the trash behind me. We donated two full bags of clothes as well. Then we spent several hours on Sunday shopping for all new stuff.
Chinese New Year, Spring Festival, is fast approaching ( Jan. 31 ) and there is a lot of cleaning going on everywhere. Sparkling windows are a necessity to welcome the new with clear vision... I need to clean mine today too.
Started doing some spring cleaning today, and one of the benefits of cleaning is discovering something you didn't remember you had. I don't remember when I acquired this, and if I bought it or it was a giveaway, but I found it with some other old watches. Haven't decided if I am holding onto it or hitting eBay. You can see the back of this watch here. (Has an Apple logo engraved on the back as well.)

I visited a friend in Budapest and his sister was cleaning this mirror. It is not a posed picture
In 1954 I entered this photo at my first photo exhibit and won first prize with it. The judge of the exhibit was world renown photographer, Ernõ Vadas.
Camera: Voigtlander 2 lens mirror reflex film 6x6 cm. The camera originally belonged to my father and at the time the picture was taken was about minimum 25 yrs old.

While doing a deep purge in my apartment in preparation for a deep spring cleaning that will happen later this week, I came across massive quantities of adorable little zippered bags, pouches, and cases. All from Clinique, all "free gift with purchase" premiums after half a lifetime of purchasing Clinique products. There were untold masses of pristine lipsticks inside. Untouched tubes of Rose Spectrum and Pink Chocolate and Violet Berry. They all went away.
