Almost the only colour Shotzy and I were able to find yesterday was her car and each other's coats. Check out her version of this image with my coat providing colour!
It was an interesting exercise in comparison once we saw each other's image. Even with out any processing, the images were quite different. I use a Point and Shoot camera with a 3:4 aspect ratio and the widest angle setting of 36 mm (35mm equivalent). I had the camera set on cloudy. In Photoshop, I reduced the highlights by 10%, did a levels adjustment and added a drop shadow frame.
Gail has a DSLR with a 2:3 aspect ratio and shot at 28mm (35mm equivalent). She also had her camera set on cloudy and was shooting in raw.

I did a shot like this last year in my kitchen sink. i thought I would try it this year in my studio and then discovered that my studio flash isn't of short enough duration to stop the water and i had to revert to using my Canon Speedlite.
This is a sheet of perspex that I am dropping the water onto, and this accounts for the small splashes. Also, very difficult to get the water to drop in exactly the right place and we are talking about very minimal depth of field, even at f/11
