some nice waves rolling into the beach at North Berwick, took a bit of timing (and several dud shots!) to try and catch the moment they splashed up and over the rocks in a satisfying foamy explosion and huge woosh, then that sort of sizzling sounds as the water flows back out again for a moment, before booming back in.

The Sutro Baths were a large, privately owned swimming pool complex near Seal Rock in San Francisco, California, built in the late 19th century. The facility was financially unprofitable and is now in ruins. Lands around the site have been integrated into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
On March 14, 1896, the Sutro Baths were opened to the public as the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment. The baths were built on the western side of San Francisco by wealthy entrepreneur and former mayor of San Francisco (1894–1896) Adolph Sutro.
The structure filled a small beach inlet below the Cliff House, also owned by Adolph Sutro at the time. Both the Cliff House and the former baths site are now a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, operated by the United States National Park Service. The baths struggled for years, mostly due to the very high operating and maintenance costs. Shortly after closing, a fire in 1966 destroyed the building while it was in the process of being demolished. All that remains of the site are concrete walls, blocked off stairs and passageways, and a tunnel with a deep crevice in the middle. - source Wikipedia

We went to the Splish Splash water park in Riverhead on Friday. It was crowded and hot and a total blast. The water slides and rides were so much fun!

CAMP HUMPHREYS — The United States Army Garrison Humphreys Morale Welfare and Recreation sports division hosted its annual triathlon here June 23.
Daniel Bates won the men’s event, followed by Timothy Simmons and Zak Kuiper.
“It’s my first time winning, actually. It’s pretty cool,” Bates said. Even though his goggles broke during the swim, he still said swimming was probably his favorite part of the event. “The pool was amazing,” he said.
The triathlon comprised three portions: a swim in the Splish & Splash Water Park pool, a 20-kilometer bicycle ride, and a five-kilometer run.
Rebecca Corbin won the women’s triathlon, followed by Sara Rainville and Rebekah Bell. Brian Joseph won the men’s 33 and over division. J.B. Gomez finished as runner-up, while Dave Elger claimed third place. Wendy Tokach won the women’s 33 and over title, followed by Danielle Laatsch and Melissa Shafer.
Colonel Joseph P. Moore, United States Army Garrison Humphreys commander, presented trophies and medals to the winners.
Lonnie Herring, USAG Humphreys sports director, said the event means different challenges for different people. Some want to finish in the top 10, some are looking for a personal best, and others are just looking to finish.
Jimmy Sheehan, who competed in his first triathlon, said, “I liked it. I’m going to do more in the future” He added his highlight of the day was “finishing.”
