First time trying splash photography - after several attempts this was about as good as I could do...

Taken on the Canon 7D using the Tamron 10-24mm Lens one early Morning while I was visiting back in Qld down at Woody Point! The Splash was created by me throwing a rock, took a number of shots to get the timing right, but I got there in the end :)

Ocean Splash
This photograph was taken near Om beach at Gokarna. To take the shot We had to climb up for about 10/15 minutes and then had to go down again to this spot which about 100 meters very dangerous stiff down to the rocks on the base of the sea so that we can get the complete view of this splash. — with Pulak Nath and Debraj Chakraborty at OM beach gokarna.
Hoy ha sido un día totalmente veraniego. Hemos hecho una paellita en la terraza, nos hemos bañado y hemos tomado el sol. Mientras estaba en mi tumbona pensaba en lo calentita que está el agua de la piscina y lo fácil que sería ponernos a hacer splash. También he pensado en splash invernales, con agua helada o mojándolo todo dentro de casa con una luz de pena... así que he buscado algo pequeño, que no me rompiera el vaso (lo digo por experiencia!) y he encontrado una minimanzanita que funcionaba de maravilla.
It's still very, very early in the Fall color season here in Grand Rapids ... things are 99% green.
One really has to work hard to find the occasional splash of color ...

My first and only water splash so far. This picnic table rests under a leaky gutter which was dropping like crazy. This is the best one I got. Now I know where to go the next time the snow starts to melt. :)
Another splash of a fruit. :) Ist's strawberry-time so i tried it with a strawberry. ;) The flash was on the right. So you see the little shadow on the left side of the strawberry. -.-' I know it's not perfect, but I like this shot still anyway. I like shadows, it makes it some dramatic. I hope you like it and had a nice weekend!

Splash of Clarity

I like the big splashes, they sound cool, the smack of my rubber boot on the smooth surface, the tiny drops splattering all over the road, the feeling of cold wetness seeping in through a small hole or crack in those rubber boots... uh-oh, time to find more boots

First half decent high speed result.
Setup: home made flash trigger with light beam to activate when drop passes. Trigger is connected to an eBay wireless flash trigger to set off the flash. Single 540EZ to camera right at about 45 degrees set to 1/128 power. Tin foil reflector camera left. White plastic card as base and black plastic card as background. EOS 350D 60mm macro lens.
The photo has not been converted to B&W, that's all the colour there is although I do intend taking some more colourful versions in the future.
This was from my second session with my high speed trigger and I'm reasonably happy with the result although there's a long way to go before I get the sort of results some people are getting. Quite pleased with the reflection.

A drop of water really does look ever so insignificant and the reaction it causes is over in a split second...forgotten in an instant. But when we take a second to examine it's effects closely, how amazing it becomes! Small, seemingly insignificant things that we do, really can have amazing and far reaching effects if we take the time to appreciate them.

SB28 through white umbrella cam right
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Macro.” I had wanted to do some water drop macros a few months ago for the “water” theme, but I wasn’t able to. The Macro theme gives me an excuse to finally get around to them.
This is my second time doing water drop photography. I actually found it easier this time around. I used a leftover IV bag and tubing to create the water drops. This works very well as I have a lot of control over the speed of the water. I’m sure I’ll try these again as I’ve learned a few more things to change for next time around.
This is my alternate shot — a “splash” shot. I decided to use B&W for this one.
Photographing Champagne Splashes today. Shooting BB Gun into Ginger Ale today. Breaking the glass stopped the shoot.
