From one of my nicest experiences last winter. Two common guillemots (Uria aalge) paddled right past me in the evening sun, on a quiet night. (Actually, the same thing happened on a second night as well.)
I sat right above sea level, while they came into the harbour for a little round. I heard nothing but their paddling sound as they went by

A shot taken from my bedroom window. A cloudy sunrise and a few splashes of light, here just hitting a small group of trees with Great Mis in the background. Thanks for taking the time.

C'est une série de photo experimental en utilisant l'interruption d'un rayon infra-rouge comme déclencheur Ici c'est la caméra qui est déclenché
Its an experimental series. Its the interuption of an infrared signal, by a falling object that triggers the camera.

This week in the group, Get Pushed!, I was paired with one of my contacts, the very talented Meshl. She challenged me to do a splash--totally a new thing for me. I followed a tutorial on youtube, by Robert Grant, at Learn My Shot dot com. Didn't even need a flash! Thanks, Michelle, for the push. I would have missed out on the fun!
Looks cool on black. Press L.
This tiny slice of time and motion gets frozen for us to have a closer look at what's happening when a drop of water (well, milky, colorful, water) falls and splashes into a body of water. Many of my frames have nothing but a flat surface of water or a single bubble in the in them, but every once in a while, I get lucky and something Fun happens!
I love all the streaks of the two different liquids mixing and turning inside the rebound column.
Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens.
This was an attempt at photographing motion with slow shutter speeds. A car drives through a puddle and splashes water into the air.
Hard landing! Big splash! Thankfully no one was injured. Or maybe this long-billed dowitcher was just bathing.
While the males and females of the species share incubation duty, it's the male that cares for the chicks once they're hatched. No deadbeat dads in this species
