step son playing hockey....he is having such a good season...on of the top goal scorers in his league. Had fun doing this one, creating the blur and processing it so all the faces are visible and even a but of an aura around him....it really draws the eye to his eyes
A Speed limit has been placed on turtle racing at Brennan's Bar, Santa Monica.
This should enable a reduction in speed related turtle injuries

Speed Graphic, 127/4.7 Ektar, TXP in HC-110. Negative scan; unfortunately I find this negative fiendishly difficult to print and haven't gotten results I liked yet.
I went down to Laguna Seca late last month to check out the Speed Ventures track day and Radical Sports car and EXR races. I took a bunch of photos digitally (to be posted shortly), but also brought along a new-to-me old film SLR; a Nikon F-801s. I thought this was supposed to AF with all of my Nikkor lenses, but it wouldn't work for me; so pardon some missed-focus shots; I had to do it manually. If R1 is in the image name, it was taken on Agfa Photo Vista 200; R2 was Ektar 100. Taken with one of the following lenses:
Nikon 24mm f/1.8G
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II
Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR I
Civvie version? Who knows. It's got an improved user-interface, so you're not as likely to crash. And it doesn't require a frog for operation now. It's recommended though, because frogs make EVERYTHING better.
Saw this high speed chase today at NW 50th and Meridian, two cop cars involved, 6 or 7 shots went off, You can try to run from the police, but it will not help you, you will be caught !
I only have another week or two to spend with my Hummingbird friends this year, so I'm trying to make the most of it. Rather than taking the usual approach of pushing for high-speed shots, today I went for the lowest shutter speeds I could manage (between 1/100th and 1/125th of a second). It was interesting. Really tough to get any of the bird in sharp focus - they move so darn fast, but you got a chance to see the different ways they flapped their wings when going forward, backwards or hovering. Also, they tend to pump their tails, which puts the whole bottom half of the bird out of focus. I got a decent number of shots that show pretty nice wing blur with the bird more or less in focus. It was nice to have lots of depth of field to work with and the chance to use some of the lower ISO settings on the camera for a change!
This is a shot of a female taken at 1/125th of a second, f/11 at ISO 160 using a 300mm f/2.8 lens with a 2X teleconverter from about 10 feet away. Very slight crop to make up for poor "composition" skills.

Out for a Sunday drive and headed to Yacolt, WA. To check out the tourist train and see what equipment they were running, I stumbled on a club of Fairmont track inspection cars, interesting group and very friendly, made for a nice trip.
First totally asymmetrical speeder and the lightest craft ever entered in Galactic Speeder League, this is the vehicle that will be used by team NinjaGo in he third season of the Formula Jedi class. It utilizes separate repulsors for the engine and the cockpit and therefore separate exhaust systems. The shape of the speeder is partly inspired by Cobb Vanth's speeder from the Mandalorian, and the color scheme is an hommage to the classic Lego M-Tron.
