The Sounds of Cuba at the South Park Branch
Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, 3 – 4 p.m.
Hispanic Heritage Month Event: The Sounds of Cuba: Afro-Cuban Folklore in the Countryside to Salsa in the City, performed by the Supersones trio!
In the Sounds of Cuba, the Supersones classic guitar trio tells the story of the development of many styles of traditional Cuban dance music that grew from a fertile fusion of cultures in the heart of the Carribbean. The group uses visual aides to teach about Cuban culture. The trio invites active participation from the audience.
A bilingual presentation for all ages. Refreshments will be served.

Con el son de Cuba, la guitarra clásica del Trío Supersones cuenta la historia del desarrollo de muchos estilos de música en la danza tradicional cubana que surgió de la fértil fusión de culturas en el corazón del Caribe. El grupo utiliza ayudas visuales para enseñar a los asistentes acerca de la cultura cubana. El trío invita la participación activa de la audiencia.
