These six photos are an attempt to capture and analyze The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries that can be found in the Musée national du Moyen Âge (aka Musée de Cluny) in Paris, France.
The Lady and the Unicorn (French: La Dame à la licorne) is the modern title given to this series of six tapestries woven from wool and silk in the style of mille-fleurs (thousand flowers) around the year 1500 in Flanders and woven from designs ("cartoons") drawn in Paris. Perhaps there was another title back in the Middle Ages but the tapestries were lost for many years and then rediscovered in 1841.
Each of the six tapestries depict a noble lady with the unicorn on her left and a lion on her right; some include a monkey in the scene. Among other things, the tapestries represent the five senses. Each tapestry is usually referred to by the sense it depicts (Taste, Touch, Smell, Sound, Sight), while the sixth tapestry, which either introduces or concludes the series, is known as À Mon Seul Désir (To My One Desire) because of the words woven into it.
The tapestries can be interpreted several ways. The most popular goes back to an old folklore that the unicorn was so wild it could only be tamed by a virgin. There was a medieval belief that if a virgin sat in the woods, then a unicorn would happen by and be seduced by the virgin. Once the unicorn had surrendered to the virgin the animal would lay its head in her lap.
There are many more interpretations. One that is also fascinating and a bit less abstract than finding the unicorn seduction theory in these tapestries is that they are about the relationship between the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ. This theory is based on the fact that throughout the Middle Ages Unicorns have been identified as a symbol of Christ by Christian writers. That “Unicorn as Christ” interpretation is far more obvious when viewing “The Hunt of the Unicorn” tapestries at the Cloisters in New York City because the association with the Passions of Christ is easy to see.
But one interpretation that can be heard both in Paris and New York is that the tapestries are about “a woman renouncing the physical world of the senses for the spiritual world.” Speculation is that both might have been wedding presents and perhaps the storyline is all about a girl going from childhood toys to raising a family.

In New Zealand trip in March 2018, we took a day tour to Doubtful Sound. It is a fjord in Fiordland, in the far south west of New Zealand. It is located in the same region as the smaller but more famous and accessible Milford Sound.
As you can see, it was not weather we would hope for, it was raining all the way. However we saw the land of thousands waterfalls!

simply, i got a drum kit, taped fairy lights on to it and hit it.
the lines.. i'm not sure where they came from. i think the cable release did something, i love it. looks like musical notes.

Not the best day to cruise into Milford Sound, NZ but still a spectacular spot to visit. Pilot boat leaving for home after dropping of the pilot that would take our ship into Milford Sound.
First a boat ride, then a bus ride on small roads. Then we arrived where our overnight cruise started. Amazing fjords, seals, dolphins, kayaking, and fishing (where the catch ended up on the dinner table). Really recommended if you visit the South Island of New Zealand.

a glacier calving in Prince William Sound and the little boat getting away from the massive waves that are coming.
Was out at Golden Gardens shooting the sunset and this person walked and stood in this exact spot. I didn't move an inch from where I stood. Pretty cool
to complete the image I made it a video in order to add the sound. The outcome is not satisfying, the image is enlarged and lost sharpness. Does anyone knows a good programm to do this job?
Sorry, folks. Events have overtaken me somewhat. All good, I assure you, but I've been remiss in developing some film I shot a while back, and haven't had any time to shoot any new rolls.
In the meantime, here's some iPhone stuff. I hope to have some new film material to post soonish.
